I have three Apple TV4s. Until recently all of them would display song lyrics when playing music with the Music app. The Music apps on my iPhone, iPad and MBA all display lyrics when the Lyrics button is toggled on.

But, one of the Apple TVs no longer displays lyrics no matter how I toggle the Lyrics button at the bottom of the screen.

So, what did I do to disable lyrics on this one Apple TV?

[Edit] I should note that my test song for this is The Beach Boy's "California Girls" because I know that lyrics are for this song are available in Apple Music and display fine on all devices except for the one Apple TV.

See bolded in the quote above. You meant to say enable lyrics, right? It sounds like you're toggling the lyrics button as you should. Have you checked for updates and rebooted?

Also, you're calling them Apple TV 4s. You do mean 4Ks, right? Or are they Apple TV HDs? If they're 4Ks, which generation?

No, I meant disabled because I'm asking what I could have done to disable lyrics on that one Apple TV. All three used to display lyrics. One stopped. I'd like to know what I did to stop it.

These are all Apple TV 4s. All of my TVs are 1080p so I didn't bother to buy 4Ks.

All of them are up-to-date with software and I did try rebooting the one that no longer displays lyrics.

With tvOS 26 lyrics in Apple Music are disabled on some Apple TV HD models. There appears to be some kind of glitch causing inconsistent behaviour.

If you're using an Apple TV 4K (2017 or later) you won't be affected by this issue.

If you're using Apple TV HD (2015) a factory reset is required to restore the intended behaviour.

Well, thank-you. At least now I know it's not my fault. Odd that it affects only one of my three Apple TV HDs. I doubt I'll go through the hassle of a factory reset as that particular TV is mostly used for video and rarely for music.

I was away from home for a week so hadn't used this Apple TV in a while. Last night I started up a playlist and miraculously, the lyrics appeared. Obviously, I hadn't done anything so perhaps it was an automatic update. Anyway, the lyrics are back.
