Hopefully we will see some of this in other IOS devices soon.

I hope not... looks extremely unsuited for screens smaller than 30"

And... an identical interface in html5 could be had that would probably be far simpler and more stable than hacking the AppleTV interface onto a jb iPhone or iPad. This interface is basically Front Row... color me unimpressed. However, I admit that I admire the curiosity of the hackers, just not the "oooo, shiney! Me want!" exclamations of their fan club. I, for one, am glad Apple never listens to the peanut gallery.

One of the reasons I bought a 16GB iPad rather than a higher memory one apart from the higher cost is that I have so much media on my iTunes server that I just don't see any way to choose what I want to sync and so Air Video does the trick. I also have an old Apple TV which is great and video streaming to it over my wireless network is very good so having the same interface on my iPad would be simply great.

No idea why Apple put the iPad out without the ability to stream from iTunes given the limited memory of the device. If it wasn't for the various apps that have been developed the iPad would be much too restricted. I have no interest in Flash since it crashes Safari enough but I really want Apple to provide a slick ATV/Front Row style interface or even just the basic iTunes shared library support that any computer with iTunes gets. Anything less seems to be selling the iPad way short. The inability to stream DRM purchased video bought from iTunes also makes me far less likely to buy that way and just stick to buying DVDs and ripping them myself with handbrake.
