Will be interesting to see how quickly the apps from countries' health agencies switch to using this better Android/iOS in-built API, like Singapore, Australia, UK. Millions of people have the apps installed already, so it could work well. Reports seem to suggest that Google and Apple are providing help to the developers of those apps if they want to move across.

The UK won’t as Cummings and his mates won’t be able to monetise the easily de-anonymised data.

I will just stay on the current OS, I am angry as it means I can no longer update my phone without installing this spyware ahem I mean feature, not happy at all, what also concerns me is unlike Android we cannot go to github to check the actual code of this spy erm I mean feature, so we just have to take Cooks word which in all honesty isn’t worth Jack......

LOL... you realize you haven't been able to check the code of iOS ever. Suddenly you think this is going to spy on you? If you don't trust "Cooks [SIC] word" wtf does it matter if this feature is there or not? I don't understand people, they put a toggle in the OS, it has an ON and an OFF. If you don't trust that toggle works, why would you assume they haven't been tracking you this whole time?! Think about it, if Tim Cook is a "bad guy" would he really wait until this feature to spy on people that purchased phones from the company he runs?

Of course he would wait, Apple is part of Prism as we all know and why spy illegally when then can now do it legally, the fact is the Elite want to be able to do everything legally that they have been doing illegally, if you can’t see that then that’s your problem, perhaps you should watch more Alex Jones and Paul Watson Videos !

Y’all believe in science, no?

This is a ridiculous intrusion into our lives, even if an opt-in. Give the government an inch and there goes everything. Disagree all you like but it’s true. This app has the potential to be very chilling.

Stanford, a pretty good school, has numbers on COVID. It ain’t that bad, chief. Like 0.05% not that bad or something.

Stop the hysteria. It’s not worth us losing everything we’ve worked our entire lives for and trashing the entire worlds economy. Sweden was right.

Agree 100%. So many scared sheep who start screaming if you try to free them from their locked cages. Sadly, if anything this has exposed the overall IQ of the populace. People are gulping down the lies and drinking the Kool Aid from the WHO. Led by tricknology companies...hiding behind virtue signaling excuses and justifications.

What is rich about all this is that folks are assuming that, in your scenario, Step 2 actually occurs.

I guarantee that outside of the MacRumors crowd, less than one-tenth of one percent of anyone who owns an iPhone or an Android phone will even be aware of such a “tracking” feature, LET ALONE they enter any information into their devices if they are confirmed infected.

That will mean that, at the end of the day, very few people (count them on one hand) will be informed about anything. Apple has created an app that makes just a few select people actually feel good about hanging up a public sign that they were infected... when, since so few will be informed, the data will mean EVERYONE SHOULD’VE JUST STAYED HOME. Apple is creating an “app” that is causing paranoid and questions to civil liberties that may or may not be limited to just COVID once the pandemic is over...
As an opinion, yes it could be that way. As a fact, nobody knows until this moves forward.

This is happening regardless of some of the sentiment expressed. If this falls flat, so be it, but it’s happening.
