I think the bigger thing to notice here is that the interface is entirely geared towards tap and flick navigation. Notice how all of the buttons are slightly larger than usual and there is more space around individual items than you would normally see. Also, the way the compare sections grow when you scroll down feels like what would normally occur on an iPhone or iPad.

I think this page might be a look into what Apple is planning for future interfaces. They are shifting the focus to tap, flick & swipe.

Apples are the biggest rip off. The macbook is 999. You can get the exact same laptop from Dell or HP for 399. You can get the equivalent to a mac book pro for 699-799.

OS X isnt worth $600 difference. Especially when you can run hackintosh and dual boot a 399 Dell and be just as well off.

This year's mac book pro is last year's middle of the road Dell/HP. What a joke.

Guess what PT Barnum said is really true "There's a sucker born every minute"

Which Dell or hp has the backlit keyboard, MagSafe connector, FireWire 800, and large multitouch trackpad, pref. 17"? I'd like to place an order.

Not to mention bluetooth (mostly an option on Dells), 802.11n, LED screen, Gigabit Ethernet all for 399$ ? Sign me up, definately an awesome Linux laptop.

Has anyone else noticed the hash up they've made on the MacBook compare carbon emissions chart?

Look, this is the pie chart:

I'm no expert - but I’m pretty sure that the Consumer Use section should be more than just 37% when it is represented well over 50%!

Go look for yourselves! It seems to be a problem in both the UK and US stores...

I want all of 'em... screw comparing, release a heavy-duty dedicated GPU in the 13" MBP... Some of us want a true beast in a 13" screen. :D

I'm a little late on this but HELLZ YEAH!!

Oh and to think that battery life must suffer, the competition in the same 1" thickness size with Core i3 is shipping with ATI HD 45xx or 46xx. The power is there and with the same efficiency's. No more excuses ... hoping to upgrade just in time for Christmas.

Yeah,
Go price me Dell with a Core i7 2.66GHz and get a price. That's what I thought. You don't know procs at all.
Also, this Apple store feature is worthless. What a waste of an overlay.

Well this is now out of context.

I'm an Apple fan but they REALLY need to start giving a ****** about graphics. I thought the compare feature was going to be a nice little addition but, unless I am blind (which is possible), there are no GPU comparisons that I see. They clearly don't feel people care about the graphic abilities of computers. They are wrong.

Since Apple (read: Steve) started to relentlessly pursue the "consuming" computer user, they've kicked the Design Pros to the curb. The needs of creatives have been a low priority, hence iPads and iPhones ant the like. Spiffy, but I don't see myself typesetting a catalog on an iPad anytime soon. And how about non-glossy screens, anyone?

But what about displays?

One thing that DID annoy me when I tried it out was that if you choose a mac pro, you can't add a display. Would be nice to be able to compare the cost of a fully configured system, let's say a Mac Pro versus an iMac or MacBook Pro. It's almost as it they're intentionally trying to hide the relative over pricing of the Mac Pros. Please let us decide if we want to see the pricing "headless" or not.

While I am something of a brand loyalist, I grump about the marketing smoke and mirrors ever more prominent in Apple's behaviors.

I seem to be able to add either the 24" or 30" display. Not sure what you are seeing.
