Thanks guys. I realised that Engadget actually works pretty well on the K800i, so I've bookmarked the feed they tell you to on the site - http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/17/live-from-apples-mum-is-no-longer-the-word-event-in-london/

Il just have to keep on eye on that on the sly at work! (I work in a hospital, which makes using your phone pretty hard sometimes)

I just really hope that if it gets launched tommorrow they don't sell out before I get down to Regent St. (look out for me sprinting from the tube at around 6:30pm :p)

Helloooo?

Anybody else out there and suffering a sleepless night, or are you all sleeping like contented babies?

Time has a habit of dragging at the least opportune moment.

I will probably fall asleep at 9.59 a.m. and miss the fun! :(

I ended up doing that for the Sept 5th Event as I couldn't get to a computer for the first half hour and engadget worked reasonably well on my K800i.

Quite irritating how much better the US events fit into our British day, all ready for when we get home at 6pm. Never mind, lets hope it's a good day for us British.

I'm expecting at least some update to the iPhone, although most likely software, and a release in a month or so on some stupidly expensive O2 tariff.

Is anyone on the west coast staying up till 2:00AM to see live updates of the event?

I sure am. I just happen to be free of classes until 11:30am out here. I just want to hear him say "AND, we're releasing all the iPod Touch's to EVERYONE today, NOT the 28th." Or something like that...

Either way, I'm gonna stay up to watch it all go down on Engadget. Anyone else?

Other UK Stores?

Does anyone know what's happening at the other UK stores today?

Really hoping that this is the launch, with stock in all stores at 4pm, but it might be too good to be true!

Hoping to head for the Trafford Centre this afternoon if we get good news!

Nothing unusual at the Trafford Centre planned at the moment - you can still book Genius Bar appointments as normal.

Engadget's wording made me chuckle.

Listen folks, if you had even a slight bit of concern that tomorrow's "Mum is no longer the word" announcement from Apple was going to be anything less than monumental, you can now put those fears to bed. Steve Jobs, AKA El-Jobso, AKA the Jobs-man, AKA Jobbers is in London as we speak, undoubtedly standing in front of a full length mirror and practicing saying, "Oh, one more thing," with a fake British accent. You have been warned: there will be at least one human being in England tomorrow wearing stonewashed jeans and your dad's turtleneck.
Emphasis mine :D

well since El Jobso is in , get him to swing by my office to punch my boss and offer me a cracking job effective immediately and available today

Booom
:D

Regent Street This Morning

I just walked past the Regent Street store just now (8:10am) and it looks pretty quiet. No black curtains, but also nothing I could see too different from the usual except:

- Where they normally have Macbooks on the front desks on the left when you walk in - there are empty spaces here with only an iMac on the end of each table - makes it look pretty bare

- It is the neatest tidiest Apple Store I have ever seen! Even all the mice are in the centre of each mouse pad - sweet! I guess with Papa Steve coming, everything must be in order...

Many papers here are reporting it will be released today. Hope they are not going to disappoint a lot of eager people. I am trying to work out a reason to duck out of the office around 4pm (perhaps)..

Mum is right. She just sent me something so I can buy an iPod touch for my birthday, which is today. I figure they're holding the event just for that. :p I don't mind a bit of fanfare for my birthday at all.

If they happen to release the iPhone to the UK in the process, so be it. Hope someone enjoys the event. It won't be much longer and the speculation will end.
