I didn’t expect to see so much whining - what the hell did you all expect? They improved it in every single area and dropped the price $50. What do you want from them??

All anyone does here is whine about Apple's decisions. I don't agree with all of what they do either, but they don't care about your complaints. They're raking in cash like it's going out of style.

If you don't like it, don't buy it, but most certainly, let's use the comments for something more productive than your incessant whining.

That being said, we all knew this would be an incremental year for updates and they did just that. I buy a phone every year just to be an early adopter and honestly it's pretty cool watching my photo and videos increase in quality every year. I'm going with an 11 from a Xs as I know next year will be a big year and I'll spend big money in 2020. I'm actually not disappointed with the LCD Panel though I haven't seen the 11 yet I imagine it's the same as the Xr which is legit plenty for what people do on their phones. I like the green color option which is what I purchased. Agree with whomever said a royal purple would've been better than the lilac/lavender they went with. Camera bump is what it is. Samsung does have a better exterior design but they don't have the OS or eco-system of apps and support to back it up.

Happy hump day ya'll...

You won't find another phone with similar specs for such high price.

You get 90% of an iPhone Pro for $700 - all the android phone makers will have to pull out all the stops to make a $700 device anybody will buy over this almost-top iPhone.

I think that price point is genius, and if I was Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi etc, I'd cringe. It's very difficult for Android phones to sell any quantity of mid-high price phones.

This will suck in from the $500 - 600 price segment too.

It poses no competition to the $300 and below phones, but that's where Android makers mostly compete with each other, with features, specs, looks, and thin margins, out-pricing each other. I have been keeping an eye on these and it seems that from $150-$300 is the sweet spot - some very nice phones to be had there.

None compete with the iPhone 11 though. If I have $700 to spend, I won't even consider any of those. I'll consider a top end Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, and compared to those that iPhone is very, very tempting. It kills.

And don’t forget those timely and frequent Samsung software updates. Oh wait never mind. Samsung abandon all their stuff really fast you’ll at best get two years of software updates

You didn’t understand my point. I would never buy a Samsung phone it’s just odd that they managed to put a good OLED panel into a sub 200$ phone while the iPhone 11 is stuck with an LCD screen.

I like the 11 a lot, and I'll get it and the Pro doesn't do anything for me. If I didn't have a Canon DLSR, maybe then I would get it. If I got the Pro, I would need the 256GB and over $1200, WAY too much IMO for a phone.

Many people are on a two upgrade cycle - so it works out great

Still no USB-C? Argh. I hate having a household full of devices that all use USB-C and my wife insisting on having this dang device that has a unique cable. Even her iPad Pro and MacBook use USB-C now. Come on Apple.

Not only that, but there is no telephoto on the Pro, only normal, wide and ultra-wide.

I just got an ultra-wide lens for my SE as I needed it but there is no way I am going oversized phone. Told the sales girl that her business is about to tank with ultra-wide built in. She had no idea.

Looks like they missed a comma where it was needed.

Wrong!

I think I might upgrade this year for the wide angle camera but move from a XS to the 11 in red... that wide angle lens and extra battery life might be worth it to me.

Don’t believe everything you read. 52mm is a normal lens, not telephoto. Unless you want to get technical, in which case even the ultra-wide lens is telephoto, but clearly Apple is not trying to use that angle.

As they did not mentiot resolution, i suppose still not full hd - laughable

I have iPhone 7 and I don't care one bit that it's not full HD, why would I care? Everything looks sharp on it but I wanted bigger display and at this price point iPhone 11 is a great phone for me.

Am actually surprised (seems the only one) it's not sold out faster as Pro really doesn't add anything of real value to justify the price.

That is because Samsung is the sole maker of that display. I've once ready that Samsung has actually higher profit of X displays alone than Apple from the whole phone. (too lazy to search for reference)

Dolby Atmos is a Great Feature in a smartphone. It’s similar to stereo but better

I have a red xr and will upgrade to a 128gb yellow or green or red iPhone 11. I love portrait mode and this model will have actual high resolution matte for doing the effect. Also there is night mode and image fusion that I can’t wait to try.
Also the ultra wide band will open up such possibilities that my mind feels from it.
