Although all my main Macs can run Monterey, this monitor's OS requirements are just a big red flag to me. BTW, my friend said that even on a supported machine, the first time he ran the monitor the camera framing was totally off. He had to run FaceTime before the framing was corrected.
Other people are also reporting that older versions of macOS don't work properly with this monitor either, defaulting to 4K, and with unclear text at 5K. Same with Windows... but ironically, if you install the Windows Boot Camp drivers, it will work properly.
So, Apple has better support for this display on Windows than on macOS.
Even in Monterey, everything still works with this monitor, but I've noticed that if I use a third party USB hub to plug in the monitor's USB connection, there are sometimes problems with brightness control from the keyboard. It only works consistently if the monitor's USB plug is connected directly to the Mac. This is new to Monterey, since it was not a problem with older OSes. Let's just hope compatibility doesn't further deteriorate with macOS 13. Even if I do lose brightness control though, it's not the end of the world with this monitor, since it has brightness buttons on the side.

I'm running a 15 year old 30" Cinema Display with my Intel Mac mini. I'm looking forward to trying it out with a new M2 or M1 Pro based Mac mini sooner rather than later. This is why I am keeping my 12 yr. old 24 in. Cinema Display (just fixed it by replacing the LCD last week for $120 - in hindsight, completely worth it vs $1599 for new Studio display that has 90% the same functionality). Works great on Boot Camp/Windows and MacOS. Plus, it was designed in the era when it had engineering/product development oversight from Steve Jobs. Hope it lasts the next decade. إن شاء الله مَا شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ
