No, not even Apple is going to sell me on advertising.

I pay too much every month to be bombarded with advertising on top of that.

It's still an ad, that's true, but I prefer it to banner for free games.

Then they shouldnt make their apps free... Easy as that. I hate adds!!!!

Because I'm in Japan, this is the first time I've ever seen an iAd. Do these things simply pop up and begin playing when you launch an iAd-supported free app, or is there a tiny banner or link in the app that the user must click to launch the ad?

This is great news.

Personally, I really like the iAds that I've seen. Anytime I see a new one appear in an app, I usually view it. Even if the product has only marginal relevance to me, as the ads are very slick with a high degree of interactivity and engagement.

So, you've got nothing better to do with your time than watch advertising for fun?

I hate adds!!!!

How many D's are there in the word "advertisement"?

Music sucks

WTF is up with the music? Not only is the music annoying, it's also so discordant with the video that I actually stopped playback to be sure it wasn't from some other video in another browser window.

Apple usually does really good music selection and editing. This was not one of them.

I don't have a problem with iAds. I do have a problem with Macrumors covering iAds like any user would care. Page 2 news, at best.

Selling a product is never easy. If you hate adds just buy the paid version, easy as that.

Yuck, yuck, yuck!
Whilst I recognise that with the increasing popularity of mobile devices, some form of advertising platform is necessary, I think it's dangerous to have it run by the company that sells the device. In this case, apple. The iAd platform should be completely kept separate from Apple, and instead be run and owned by a 3rd party. The reason I say this is because it seems like Apple are looking to incorporate iAds into their other products- such as apple tv, and, down the track, I'm certain iAds will be an integral part of the Mac OS X operating system.

Whilst the ads are not so obtrusive at the moment, as the ad platform grows, Apple's greed will also grow, and the ads will eventually become obtrusive nuisances.

I'm not too worried though, because I can easily switch back to Windows- with the quality of apple's hardware (2007 macbook), I'm reconsidering switching back to Windows and making the most of Windows 7. I also wouldn't rule out going to Google's Android, or Microsoft's WP7.

As an iPod touch 3rd gen owner, I have refused to upgrade to iOS4 because of iAds- yes I know I'll eventually have to upgrade due to future incompatibility, I'm just making the most of an iAd-free Apple device while I still can.

I LOVE ads!

I couldn't be more excited about iAds! Keep it coming. Keep the ads coming. Plaster them over everything that moves or has the potential to be moved. They increase the joy in everyone's lives, and do not clutter everything we look at or get in the way when we want to do something.

There is a banner, and you click it to view the ad. You can close the add at anytime to return to the application.

Im pretty sure if Steve Jobs read this, he would think you were serious... and might also think you fainted when the Beetles went for sale on itunes.

If I pay for an App the last thing in world I want to see is an ad. I hate them but if I don't have to pay for an App then it would understandable there would be ads to help the developer pay for their the App. Is it me but if I want to be bothered by advertising. What do other people think.
