So your knowledge came from this video, not real life experience? Lol.

I can record a video that's completely opposite from this. How about making a bet? Says a hundred bucks?

FYI, that kind of problem is most likely come from his Clock app had crashed or something. Don't think it has anything to do with SIRI.
For other problems he had, looks like his phone also had microphone problem. Exchange it most likely solves.

PS. OK, here it is
Short and sweet, isn't it? (This video is real-time, no speed adjustment whatsoever)
You do know that Apple product come with a free 1 year warranty right? If something didn't work for you, just have them fix it.

(Too bad I didn't record sound so you could hear how bad my thick accent is)

You still don't believe me? These are my videos - recorded just for you, by me. The clock app works, as i use it to set timers manually. The microphone works great - look how well the Google app translated. So, go ahead and send me the hundred bucks, i guess, though I'm not sure what we bet on.

We bet on my video will be completely different than you, and I won. Looks at the one I posted.

So you don't know that Apple product has a free 1 year warranty (at least)? You keep using your iPhone despite it's being defective? Or are you simply believing that SIRI on hundreds of million iPhones out there can't complete this basic task?
I mean I want to know what level of IQ I'm responding to here.

My phone is well over 1 year old.

I never said "nobody can set a timer". I said (and I quote myself) "Mine still can't do things like set a timer without an error". You seem unwilling to even entertain the idea that Siri isn't perfect, or that all people are walking around without <1 year old iphones at all times, or that no one has ever had a problem with Siri, because you don't happen to know anyone or seen any other videos but mine. You didn't believe me, I showed you, you insult my intelligence, rather than offer neighborly suggestions. You respond with these grand fallacious replies, when you have nothing to offer but ad hominem. Why reply at all?

This forum used to be filled with people not so quick to personally attack others. Good luck with your perfect phone. Please don't reply to my comments any further.

Sometimes when things went wrong you might want to stop and think just a little ..that 'there could be something wrong with my phone', instead of blaming something else entirely like you did in your first post.. if you don't believe your case is universal that is.
You can even ask why SIRI on my phone failed. Just sayin'.

Sorry, I have to make myself clear... and now I'm gone.

This morning I asked Siri on my Apple Watch "what is the record of the San Francisco Giants" and later "what is the win loss record of the San Francisco Giants". In both cases the Apple logo appeared as if the watch was restarting and then it returned to the clock face without answering my question. When I asked "when was the last game played by the San Francisco Giants" it briefly showed me the answer, including the time and results of the game against the Brewers but then flashed back to the clock face. Anyone else notice weird behavior like this from Siri?
Worked fine when I asked "what is the record of the Los Angeles Dodgers?" The win-loss record popped right up as well as the standings.
Seriously. Just saying. ;)

While this is accurate to an extent, it should be noted that Google knows SO much about you, and Apple is doing a lot of their work blindfolded (on purpose), because they put users privacy above functionality.

We're reaching the point where if you don't care what a company knows about you, and you just want it to tell you what to do because it knows where you live, where you work, etc. Then you should go with Google products.

Apple is a hardware / software company. Google is a search and advertising company. With Apple, they have to make Siri work with little user information. With Google, they have your email, your calendar, your GPS data, your pictures, etc. So yeah... They can tell you to leave 10 min earlier to get to the airport. Then they can serve you an ad for a new roller bag because they see the receipt for your old one is 5 years old and isn't TSA ready... Yay!?!

I was talking about how fast and accurate rival services are compared to the generally slow and often mishearing Siri (for example, install Hound app and try how fast & precise it is right away).

Privacy is another discussion - but if Apple is encrypting everything, maybe they could create Siri service, where THEY don't know stuff about you (and thus can't share it with the big brother), but Siri on your devices does and is a little less dumb? But even without all that - just improved speed & precision would be a great achievement. :/
