While I can appreciate the improvements, refresh rate is much higher on my priority list than deeper bass from the speakers and more MPs on the built-in camera.

The 5k display quality is solid, but a 60 Hz refresh rate on a $1600 IPS display is a tough sell in 2026. Hard pass.

Well I have to admit I was wrong here. Never did I think Apple would keep the current display at $1599 and then introduce a 27" Mini LED for $3299 😂

If there were no other 5k options I could see Apple doing that but the market is starting to heat up with lots of third party 5ks.

I actually thought 27" Mini LED would come in starting $1999 and then possible this year we get a 32" Mini LED at $3999+

Once again, Tim Cook's failures to deliver new products that are a value proposition for customers. Absolutely ridiculous. Apple has the money to do R&D to deliver more frequent updates. There is no excuse for using a 10-year old panel and leaving the price so high other than trying to squeeze as much money out of Apple users as they can. I'm kind of surprised he didn't start selling a subscription to use your monitor....

Will it be possible to daisy-chain a DisplayPort monitor to the new Studio Displays? If so, I presume via a Thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable or some sort of adapter? I have a Dell S2725DS I'd like to daisy-chain to the new Studio Display (once it ships) and an M4 MacBook Air.

$1600 for a 60hz display in 2026 is actually insane.

It is but the $3300 27" one hurts more. Like wtf are they thinking here? Its only 27".....what are you going to do, buy two of them and be $6600+ in the hole? Two 27" displays isn't even some baller setup in 2026.

Example this is Dan from Mac Rumors setup. Who is going to duplicate this with the Mini LEDs, probably $7k with sales tax(can't wait to see the IRS agent looking over that tax write off for business) 🤣

I have been putting off purchasing a new display, hoping this would come, although the height adjustable stand bumps the price up mightily! I might have to look elsewhere. But the Thunderbolt 5 and camera built in make it tempting... I'll have to look at my piggy bank before making a decision.

As height adjustment is a legal requirement for a business monitor, I don't understand why Apple charges as much for the bump to a height adjustable stand as others charge for a 5K display with height adjustable stand.

Edit: And an extra 2,5K€ for HDR? Nope, no way.

BenQ and ViewSonic both looking good, with 5K, HDR and Thunderbolt 4 for 1,000€

Based on this description, if I have an MBP with an M2 Max chip, would it be restricted to a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz? Or is this limitation only applicable to the base M2 and M3 chips?

So we got the improved refesh rate - oh we didn't, ahh
But we got something bigger you can get it in 32"now yes? - oh that's not an option either
New technology that for a better display though - no again, got it.
Improved sound, oh 30% more bass you say well that's it I'm sold.

Erm what the actual, if you don't have one great but other than the throughout there is little to cheer about here. Ah well more in my back rocket.

What a monumental disappointment. Not often I say it, but Apple dropped the ball on this one.
Expectations were built up too much for this week, for these new products updates.

I have the original studio display. It is fine. But all the features they hyped about it, the camera, the beam forming mics... absolutely worthless in the value column (don't fall for it).

You're better of going the new LG monitor.... 32 Inch UltraFine™evo 6K Nano IPS Black Monitor with Thunderbolt™ 5.

I was looking at the 32k LG 6k/ Kuycon monitor last week. Unless they released a pro display xdr tomorrow with a mac studio..maybe..the LG is looking pretty good right now.

I am a bit surprised they didn’t make more updates to the regular Studio Display. That said, it isn’t like 4 years ago when there were very few 5K monitors. There are plenty of other choices for those disappointed with the lack of upgrades.

So disappointed, I mean, they could not do a 32 inch monitor? Is it that difficult?
They used to. But according to a North Korean trusted Apple rumor leaker they stopped it because people here were complaining that it was too expensive.

Hilariously disappointing. I had held off buying a monitor in case this was the big upgrade money were expecting. I was reluctant to pay the Apple tax but i was prepared to.

But the same price with these specs? No way man.
The same here, I've been putting off buying a 5K monitor, in the hope the 27" Studio would come with HDR, but I'm not paying an extra 2.5K for HDR, I think I'll pay 500€ less for HDR instead, even if it means dropping down to TB4...
