Wow. I’ve been disappointed by some Apple hardware updates in the past, but this is next level. It’s like a middle finger to all of us who were waiting for a decent Studio Display update. And the XDR is even less geared toward pros now because of the size, but too expensive for average users to justify.

What are you talking about? Tim Cook is going BEAST MODE.

I am a graphic designer/photographer, and I love the build quality of the Apple Display, but as I am reading here, it is silly to pay this much for this in 2026...So, what is the best 27" or 32" monitor at this price point?
I am connecting a loaded Mac mini, and sometimes my MacBook Air M2.

Thanks!

Well....looks like Apple is still counting on that Pavlovian response.

This monitor is entirely underwhelming. I have been waiting to see what Apple announced, and now, I know I need to look elsewhere.

I’ve seen countless posts from people screaming all they want is the display updated to 120Hz refresh rate. Now they have that option, the people screaming for it previously now seem strangely absent from the discussion.

This is so utterly disappointing. It is just so lazy. They haven't even fixed the problem that the display does not go down ... it still has the same MINIMUM height of 47.8cm (18.8inches) as before, irrespective of whether you buy the fixed height version, or the variable height version. i.e. if you buy the variable height version, it still only goes up, and not down. Just hopeless ... after all these years waiting and waiting. So disappointing.

Because the LG is 6K 6144×3456 ASUS ProArt PA32QCV uses a 6016×3384 panel. LG TB5 vs. TB4

Thats a small difference especially at that large of a price gap. I'd watch heads up comparison videos on these. People who have both go for the ASUS. LG has a lot of quirks with bad button placement, has a separate power supply brick, flimsy ports in the back, adjustment more difficult. Both LG and ASUS had bad QC for panels compared to Apple.

Yeah, it seems like displays are not a top priority for Apple. The few that buy them will be happy for whatever it is that caused them to overlook the specs. Prestige, matching other equipment, etc. The panel tech is ancient, but it was already quite well aged when the Studio Display first came out. Fortunately, there are so many other options. I picked up a used LG 5k display last year for 250 dollars. It has a nick on the coating, but it works quite well otherwise.

I can't believe I was waiting so long for... this? I would even have a hard time justifying buying this if this was 32". Guess LG and Dell will have a nice week
Though it's not enough to upgrade from the previous version, it's definitely good enough for someone in the market for a new monitor.
