Apple Upgrades CarPlay in Two Ways

I need to have the ability to scale the icons, REGARDLESS of screen size for CarPlay! Apple, wake up. Scaleable vector graphics icons should enable this feature TODAY for ALL CarPlay targets.

So what if my 2019 Blazer RS has an 8" screen, the icons are too big, shrink them and give me a 3rd row configurable option!

Does Apple have a list of compatible cars anywhere?

Probably easier to pull up the car you’re interested in and check the specs for CarPlay. It does seem like it’s mostly based on brand. For example, Ford and BMW include CarPlay where as Tesla does not.

I would still love a the ability to add some home automation Siri shortcut buttons. Seems like a big miss. The current garage door functionality is very limited and not well implemented.

Another row of apps to distract the driver from the windshield? What could go wrong? If Apple could only convince automakers to adopt tighter integration with CarPlay into their proprietary systems, that would be worthwhile. But that's a big ask.

Maps. Music. Messages. And…..oh those are literally the only three apps I ever use in my truck. So pointless update for me.
