At times, I take issue with Apple's SJW stance on things. But it's moments like these that remind me to accept the occasional annoying item because they do stand up for the little guy in many areas that the country should really care more about.

They are far from standing up for the little guy.. On the contrary, they are quite self-interested. The only reason Apple is for reversing the ban on internet fast lanes is because they want to stream their own produced content, as well as iTunes stuff, without any extra costs, just like Netflix and Amazon do. Recode even said it when the originally reported this story.

Instead, Apple only shares its more general views about the need for net neutrality safeguards — a position he’s taking because Apple itself serves up music and movies while investing in its own content that it can’t so easily deliver to consumers if internet service providers stand in the way.

Do you only have 1 bank, 1 airline, or 1 insurance company to choose from?
I have three different ISP's to choose from.

And truly, I wouldn't have an issue with paying extra for a faster "highway"/lane.

It's a non-issue for me. I see a lot of hand wringing. I don't see a demonstrable problem.

Just my experience.

Congrats. You're 1% of Americans that has 3 ISPs to choose from.

Note that I said "in many areas". Certainly there are going to be some - like this one - where standing up is also good for their business. But not everything conveniently fits in that box.

No reason to be nasty.
[doublepost=1504473089][/doublepost]And by the way, net neutrality issues are not prohibiting isp's from setting up shop.

I'm saying your experience is irrelevant because nearly all Americans only have 1-2 choices.

Laying cable is very expensive and there are many barriers from local governments. If Google can't penetrate the market, what makes you think just any company can?

The lack of competition is the reason why Net Neutrality is needed.

"Laying cable is very expensive and there are many barriers from local governments"

Exactly. Which is why there are few companies doing it.

If you really want ISP competition in America, you'll need to reform the Boss Hog state and local governments that decide what lines go in their soil.

"Net neutrality" and teeth gnashing is not going to change that.
