Yeah, it shouldn't need 16GB, Apple says 8GB is enough /sThe fact it has 16GB of RAM (which is good!) but the "PRO" MacBook starts with 8GB... kinda yikes not gonna lie

I'll just add to 111 and suggest that "maybe" on a storage level this device is more like an Apple TV than say in iPhone or full on laptop/desktop. Where storage is more important. The photo's and videos most likely will be taken off the device (iCloud or other storage device). Videos maybe mostly streamed, so little need for massive storage space.Fair enough. Of course, you’re never obligated to reply to anyone. I just thought I’d point out post # 111, in case it got lost in the shuffle.
To be fair to Wizard, they did share an example of what they do with three open apps simultaneously.I'll just add to 111 and suggest that "maybe" on a storage level this device is more like an Apple TV than say in iPhone or full on laptop/desktop. The person doesn't have to answer my questions. No obligations. One would expect however a better response if one is going to respond at all. But whatever. Then, like always for me anyway. Anyone is free to respond to it. Thanks for your efforts though. 😁
I do think there are those that just want "more" for the sake of more. Rather than an actual need or any better function. I've never seen a need or reason to run 3 apps side by side even on my desktop. Specifically on the same screen. MacOS gives you more screen space with "spaces". So I can run say all my browsers, full screen on their own screen. And on another monitor have my remote desktops and VM's, full screen on their own desktop screen. And so on. But, to fill up my screen with 3 apps. Unless they are relatively small by design. I don't have a need for that. I'm thinking like Text Editor (example). Something naturally small. Maybe Wizard has a specific reason for that? But, not sharing. Which is fine.
I did see that and maybe my mind just totally ignored it since, you can do "some of" that. PiP works well enough so you can have that video and move it to the top or bottom of the screen while on the home screen. The stocks App (if they use that, not sure if they perfer a different app more specific to their trading needs). But, if it supports widgets you can have that on the home screen as well. I, for example use RobinHood and it supports Widgets. The 3rd app (texting) would be the limit on the iPhone. You can text and watch the video, but not see the stocks app.To be fair to Wizard, they did share an example of what they do with three open apps simultaneously.
“Like watching a SpaceX launch, checking my stocks, and messaging people at the same time on my smartphone.”
I do wish folks would at least test it first before coming up with any opinion of the specs being good enough or impressive, etc. If it had say 64GB of ram. I (personally) would be worried that it needed so much. But, like you said everyone is different. Someone else would say "that's impressive". But is it needed? What if you use it and never run into an issue? Would it be impressive that "only" 16GB of ram is sufficient? So yeah, everyone is different. We all have different demands and expectations from our devices. I honestly expected the first gen AVP to only have 8GB RAM, so 16GB was a nice surprise, but I can understand that it’s not exactly impressive. To me, it seems appropriate.
I"m certainly for it. Being a Gen 1 device. I don't expect it to blow me away on the gaming front. I'm sure it will play any game as well as a MacBook Air can. Which is fairly well. But that will most likely wait for an M3 version and games designed for Vision Pro. Full on Ready Player One! Without the suit of course...A PlayStation 5 or XBox Series X has 16GB RAM and those fully meet/exceed my gaming standards. Apple isn’t emphasizing gaming on this device, but we all fully expect it to be capable of playing games if and when Apple wants to push for it.
Pretty sure someone will try and install Crossover on it and run Crysis day one. Or is it CyberPunk now? IDK what the kids are playing these days. But, someone will stress that ram and M2 within 5 minutes of getting it. Or complaining they can't install it because Apple blocks it or something like that. Either way. I think we should judge it based on what it is and what it can do. And any new possibilities/innovations it can bring forth (or not). I think the specs are useful if you need it to meet an applications or systems needs. And some future proofing. In the meantime, hopefully 16GB RAM and 256GB storage is sufficient for most use cases on the AVP. If it’s not, hopefully Apple corrects that with version two, but so far it doesn’t seem to be an issue. Plus, at least there seem to be other storage options.
This would be closer to an iPad Pro (M2). Not sure what they are clocking this device at, but it should be at about iPad Pro levels of performance. There were rumours(confirmed?) that the ram and ssd on AVP is faster to allow lower latency processing. For a mobile device 16 gb and 256gb isnt too bad. Is about like a iPhone Pro? Except iPhone Pro is one generation ahead w the A17.
This is a powerful device, and I am curious to see what it can do.
