Yeah home set ups will never truly get the g-forces. But it’s getting closer with the more accessible four post actuators. And the simucube active pedals are getting us even closer to simulating any cars pedals. Now if only I had 10+k to upgrade my current rig..
Just spin your office chair really fast to experience some g forces

We need more applications like this but it's a great step in the right direction to create a groundswell of demand for whenever Apple releases a more affordable headset. A $1599 Apple Vision with apps like this will sell really well.

Used M2 AVP's are going for under $2k on FB Marketplace - and I missed one that was listed for a couple hundred less. Of course, now that M5 AVP is out, that's the one I want.🤪

Thing is - i have a Quest 3 and a PSVR2 - both of which mostly collect dust. AVP is interesting because of the quality on offer and it's Apple ecosystem integration, but there still doesn't seem to be a compelling enough use case for it yet.

I was thinking this was coming directly to the AVP which would be neat, but being a supported monitor is a bit different than the title suggested.
I was hoping the video would feature some output from looking around. Does it? Or literally just another monitor option? (Don't we already have that?)

Looks like Apple realised that AR and games work well together. Better late than never. Of course it would be better to run games natively than streaming.

Yeah - despite it's game vs. sim tension, the one thing MS FS 2024 really does well is the sense of place. The quality of the visuals really help with immersion in VR.

Also MSFS has some planes with extremely detailed systems simulations. B777, A380-842, etc.

I use a reverb G2 with MSFS 2020. Quite impressive still. I understand there are round about ways to get AVP to work but it’s complicated and there are other headsets about that just work.

Apple still losing a potential revenue stream by not trying to also break into the PC VR headset market.

This is exactly what Vision Pro has needed, this kind of content that is immersive, entertaining and somewhat educational.

Why has it taken so long for a cloud flight sim to come to this platform?

A few home setups have motion rigs to tilt the simulator, there was one not far from me where the enthusiast built up an entire 747-400 flight deck and motion rig running from MS Flight Sim and if I remember right the PMDG 747-400.

He used real 747-400 parts as much as possible.

Probably limited user base of AVP and with MSFS being the giant it is, difficult to take them on with the resources they have.

And why should any Apple product support anything Nvidia related? Have they forgotten the history and the war between Apple and nvidia?

I can feel the input lag from here. It will be a novelty but nothing amazing based on my own experience with VR, cloud streaming and as a long time gamer.

I bought an M2 on release day and returned it at 14 days. I loved it the headset and was sold that I'll own one eventually but the price tag is my only hangup. I think I used it 4-5 hours a day at home and at work for those 2 weeks and really missed it when it was gone.

Finally some good news for the AVP. Time to dust if off once this comes out (and hopefully opens the path for more exciting updates).

They can be awfully stubborn about not chasing sales in areas that are not strategically aligned with where the company wants to be. Apple execs clearly aren't interested in the PC VR market, even thought it could mean millions of extra sales.

They eschewed gaming for decades until a recognition that games are a huge component of their services revenue.

Interesting feedback. I mean - I do enjoy VR in general. Seems like it would be a worthy investment at pre-owned prices.

I am just glad that the very LISA like Vision Pro continues to get advances and support even if the support is for games that are geared towards hobbyist, Vision Pro kind of fits that bill.
