I forgot about this option. I got a gaming PC to replace my old iMac in bootcamp mode. Fans are super loud on the gaming laptop. This is product would work perfectly for my needs.

I'd be more excited if I was more impressed with cloud gaming in general. I've never had an experience where I don't notice the lag, and it's a deal breaker in the kinds of games I like to play.
Tried streaming via xbox - gamepass stream or whatever and it was fine, not fine for competitive 3d shooter, but tried single player gears of war and with good connection it was near flawless, and that was like 4 years ago?

I would still prefer they brought the games to Mac. Streaming to Vision from Mac over airplay has 0 latency and great visuals since Airplay is point-to-point. Even with super fast internet and GeForce Now there is noticeable lag and image quality loss.

That being said, Vision has become my main gaming system (with Mac), so I’m happy to see more games becoming available to Vision.

The Apple Vision Pro supporting GeForce NOW means that people can finally play Fortnite on an AVP 🤯
You can already do that and it’s free with Xbox Cloud. Go load go to the Xbox website on your Vision and play Fortnight, no need to pay. It’s the only free, no subscription game on Xbox cloud.

It runs better though if you run it on your Mac connected via Ethernet then share your Mac screen to Vision, but you can do all in the Vision browser if you prefer.

The Apple Vision Pro headset will soon support NVIDIA's GeForce NOW cloud gaming platform, the company today announced.

NVIDIA announced at CES 2025 that it is collaborating with Apple to bring GeForce NOW to the Vision Pro using Safari, with updates to the platform expected to roll out later this month. This will enable users to access AAA titles with the power of NVIDIA's RTX technologies that leverage technologies like ray tracing and DLSS.

Apple Vision Pro owners will gain access to NVIDIA's extensive library of over 2,100 supported titles via the cloud, including upcoming AAA games such as Avowed and DOOM: The Dark Ages, without the need for local processing or a downloaded library. Using Safari eliminates the need for a Progressive Web App (PWA) installation, which has previously been a requirement on other Apple platforms.

GeForce NOW support on the Apple Vision Pro is set to debut later this month, with the rollout of GeForce NOW app version 2.0.70. Users will be able to stream games through Safari on the Vision Pro by navigating to the platform's website, play.geforcenow.com, once the update becomes available. In addition to the Vision Pro, GeForce NOW will soon support other mixed-reality headsets, including the Meta Quest 3 and Pico devices.

Hopefully this means that Apple is listening to feedback, including revising the AVP to allow external inputs from existing Sim hardware.

If that happens, we just need them to pull their heads out of their asses and bring back QTVR, and the AVP will actually be worth buying, for me.

Maybe by 2026?

This is better than nothing, but GeForce Now doesn’t allow you to play VR games, and it’s ironic that gaming on a powerful VR headset would outsource rendering to the cloud.

Can confirm gamepass streaming works very well given a good connection, for single player and/or non-shooter games, as you suggest. I use it fairly regularly on my Samsung TV with the built-in XBOX app and an Xbox controller paired to the TV. Assassins Creed games, Dishonored, Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon games, etc.
I can’t imagine ANY streaming service would be adequate for multiplayer FPS games, though.

This might actually get me to play a few games. I wonder if 3D will be supported, or if it'll just be a big floating 2D window.
3D will not be supported.
Afaik Apple doesn't allow game streaming apps unless you can pair both devices within the same network (e. g. Moonlight). Apple doesn't allow remote access to PCs or servers far away
Actually 1 year ago Apple changed policies to allow game streaming. I am not sure why XCloud and Nvidia GeForce Now must still use the browser.

Developers have no interest in making games for the Apple Visionless Paperweight!

...or for the iOS juggernaut, other than only handful of AAAs.

I very much enjoy the vast library of them available for AppleTV, by leaning on Moonlight, leaning on a gaming PC. It would be nice to have all the Apple OSes with native versions but the wait for that is an eternal one... with good promises every 6-8 years about being serious about gaming (this time). We can keep right on waiting... or switch to options that deliver them now.

NVIDIA need to launch the iOS/ipadOS/tvOS native apps. Apple removed the embargo on game streaming apps ages ago.
It's especially weird when you consider there is a Mac native app. I don't understand why iOS / iPad and now VisionOS are being supported through Safari.

If they can somehow make games like the next Battlefield or Call of Duty available on Vision Pro, I’m completely on board.

I would guess it’ll be “flat”, at least at the start. Apple seems to really be focusing on gaming, which is about time. But maybe they wanted to release the Vision Pro in a simple state, and then building it all out over time.

I hope the PlayStation VR controllers get full motion support (if the rumors are true). If it’s *really* good, then the AVP is suddenly on par with current gaming vr hardware. Then it’s just about getting good games, which is probably the hardest part.

Great for those who have a Vision Pro and are into gaming. Don't know how comfortable it will be to use the headset for longer times especially while playing games.
