Tried streaming via xbox - gamepass stream or whatever and it was fine, not fine for competitive 3d shooter, but tried single player gears of war and with good connection it was near flawless, and that was like 4 years ago?I'd be more excited if I was more impressed with cloud gaming in general. I've never had an experience where I don't notice the lag, and it's a deal breaker in the kinds of games I like to play.
Apple needs to find a way to work with some of the top game developers to make the hot games spatial for Vision Pro.
That's upto apple allowing that. Why not release a native app?
Apple already allows cloud gaming apps. That's upto apple allowing that.
You can already do that and it’s free with Xbox Cloud. Go load go to the Xbox website on your Vision and play Fortnight, no need to pay. It’s the only free, no subscription game on Xbox cloud. The Apple Vision Pro supporting GeForce NOW means that people can finally play Fortnite on an AVP 🤯

NVIDIA announced at CES 2025 that it is collaborating with Apple to bring GeForce NOW to the Vision Pro using Safari, with updates to the platform expected to roll out later this month. This will enable users to access AAA titles with the power of NVIDIA's RTX technologies that leverage technologies like ray tracing and DLSS.
Apple Vision Pro owners will gain access to NVIDIA's extensive library of over 2,100 supported titles via the cloud, including upcoming AAA games such as Avowed and DOOM: The Dark Ages, without the need for local processing or a downloaded library. Using Safari eliminates the need for a Progressive Web App (PWA) installation, which has previously been a requirement on other Apple platforms.
GeForce NOW support on the Apple Vision Pro is set to debut later this month, with the rollout of GeForce NOW app version 2.0.70. Users will be able to stream games through Safari on the Vision Pro by navigating to the platform's website, play.geforcenow.com, once the update becomes available. In addition to the Vision Pro, GeForce NOW will soon support other mixed-reality headsets, including the Meta Quest 3 and Pico devices.

Afaik Apple doesn't allow game streaming apps unless you can pair both devices within the same network (e. g. Moonlight). Apple doesn't allow remote access to PCs or servers far awayWhy not release a native app?
Can confirm gamepass streaming works very well given a good connection, for single player and/or non-shooter games, as you suggest. I use it fairly regularly on my Samsung TV with the built-in XBOX app and an Xbox controller paired to the TV. Assassins Creed games, Dishonored, Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon games, etc.Tried streaming via xbox - gamepass stream or whatever and it was fine, not fine for competitive 3d shooter, but tried single player gears of war and with good connection it was near flawless, and that was like 4 years ago?
3D will not be supported. This might actually get me to play a few games. I wonder if 3D will be supported, or if it'll just be a big floating 2D window.
Actually 1 year ago Apple changed policies to allow game streaming. I am not sure why XCloud and Nvidia GeForce Now must still use the browser.Afaik Apple doesn't allow game streaming apps unless you can pair both devices within the same network (e. g. Moonlight). Developers have no interest in making games for the Apple Visionless Paperweight!
It's especially weird when you consider there is a Mac native app. I don't understand why iOS / iPad and now VisionOS are being supported through Safari.NVIDIA need to launch the iOS/ipadOS/tvOS native apps. Apple removed the embargo on game streaming apps ages ago.
I would guess it’ll be “flat”, at least at the start. Apple seems to really be focusing on gaming, which is about time. But maybe they wanted to release the Vision Pro in a simple state, and then building it all out over time. This might actually get me to play a few games. I wonder if 3D will be supported, or if it'll just be a big floating 2D window.
