Let’s take what is basically a MacBook Pro on your face with an iOS interface and make it run a service through Safari for the best experience. This device has so much unused potential it’s hilarious. I happy its an option but its not using is most effective hardware to drive this.

Really? I stream games sometimes using PS Plus and it’s fine. Connection is 300/300. I don’t have any issue besides the less than occasional stutter.

PS5 is connected via Ethernet.
I've tried PS Now and the Xbox cloud gaming service, both were unplayable - but I didn't use ethernet. Is that the main source of latency? I guess I could try again, but an ethernet cable would have to make a huge difference, and I would have to convince my wife that having an ethernet cable on the ground is great, and not a trip hazard for our children

So it's an uphill battle, but I am curious

the main sources of latency are distance to the data center, WiFi (especially if signal is poor, network congestion, etc), display refresh, video decoding, and input latency (especially if sometimes under weird conditions WiFi and bluetooth can interfere).

Switching from WiFi to ethernet can shave off a couple milliseconds of latency, or possibly more if the WiFi was not working well. It also makes the results much more stable to network conditions such as multiple simultaneous users, someone running the microwave, etc.

Google Stadia on a Chromecast Ultra with Ethernet was 100% indistinguishable from a real console for me.
