A cracked screen would be caused by water how?
under no circumstances should that ever happen.

As illustrated in other posts - you have a reading comprehension problem. Sorry - but you do.

I never said a cracked screen was caused by water damage. We were discussing the indicator strips.

Wow.

Actually if you bothered to read the thread...people made the very excellent point that Apple could void warranty for problems unrelated to water damage. You'll find any way possible to blame the customer and not fault Apple. It's really absurd. This guy got his Iphone back unassembled, and they claimed water damage with no sensors tripped on an unrelated problem. So ironically, it is you with the reading comprehension problem.

And you come back apologizing for apple, as usual. Are you trying to win something?

Because 9 times out of ten - that's not the case. 9 times out of 10 - there has been water damage and someone is trying to pull a fast one.

Whilst I see the point you are trying to make, it is widely-acknowledged that Apple have been dodging the issue of over-excitable moisture sensors for almost as long as the iPhone has been in existence, so I think that your "9 times out of 10" judgment is a bit harsh to say the least. ;)

Fair enough. Perhaps "extreme"

Gadget - stop trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Please indicate where I said anything about the cracked case. And please read my post to the OP where I said exactly what he should do regarding his situation. Side with Apple? LOL. Um no. I didn't.

Even you have to admit Apple is using those sensors to get out of honoring a valid warranty.

OP, why didn't you just fix it with a rubber band and paper clip?

To be fair, the next poster after his explains how they fraudulently got a water damaged phone replaced for free! He does have a valid point as the reason the indicators are there is because of people like this, who damage their own property and demand that Apple replace it for them. I.e. stealing.

i'll have to say that we were very lucky when we had a water incident. I accidentally washed my boyfriends iphone in the laundry as he left it in his pants pocket. It didnt turn, it was fried. He painted the water sensors, took it in and they gave him a brand new one on the spot.

this story is intense! corrosion around the dock connector. smh

I'll say you were lucky! You committed fraud and theft and could have been charged with a crime. I would't be bragging about this on a public forum if I were you.
