Why are you browsing to the BBC site when there's a dedicated app for it?

I, for one, don't want dedicated apps. If I am browsing facebook and someone posts a link, I want to follow that link and view the content, then hit Back to continue browsing. I don't want to have every single app installed, just in case someone decides to share something from that site.

It's about the seamless experience, which you get without having to leave the browser.

There's nothing more frustrating than to be on one of your favorite sites, reading an article only to have the dreaded blank white space appear with an error message saying you must have flash to see this video, or some other interesting content.

I ask myself, Is It That Hard For Apple To Understand?

With the absence of flash on your iDevice, how are you limited? I see and hear many people make such a dramatic claim and yet, no one really seems to back that up.

Granted, I own both an iPad and an Android phone. I don't dislike my phone but there are indeed a couple quirks about it. On the other hand, my iPhone (when I had one) had quirks as well. It boils down to one device works better for me than the other. Where Apple wants to do away with the file system, I am still very much married to the idea of one. I like that feeling on my phone. But my Droid hasn't quite figured out copy and paste as well as Apple has. They were years late to the party, but they managed to do it.

Either way, I don't get why we need anyone's so-called candid thoughts on anything. The iPad may be a fad but it's a fad that seems to have clicked with many. So much so, other fad like pads are popping up. I'm sure someone will have to take the fall for that BS fad. In the end, it is going to have to come down to what is good for you and if something isn't then fine. Unless you have a large following of people who value your opinion and so-called candid thoughts, then why bother typing? Unless of course you're like me and you just love hearing yourself type. In that case, I can see your point.

Perhaps it's Flash that's not providing a "proper web experience."

Where and how do you figure that Flash content is on the increase? Why would it be on the increase when iOS devices don't support it (and iOS devices are on the increase, i.e., iPad)?

Sites like Newgrounds rely on flash support to view flash video. Adobe isn't going to forfeit their coveted platform.

Flash has also made great strides in the past few years. On both PC and Mac. I've almost never had flash crash in Flash Player 10 in Safari and supposedly flash + safari = hell. Can't say the same for Flash Player and Chrome. But I think that was Chrome's problem and that's been fixed in the most recent version for me.

I don't see the lack of Flash as a major problem on my iPhone... maybe if I had an iPad, as I would use it more for web browsing than my iPhone due to it's bigger screen.

I personally don't understand why Apple don't just allow it on their devices. I see no harm in doing so. I have been on a few websites on my iPhone that required Flash to do certain functions, however, I wasn't that fussed when it didn't work and just made a mental note to check it out next time I was on my iMac.

So what I'm trying to say here is, I don't mind the absence of Flash that much. However, I don't get why there has to be one.
