Apple TV is great. Seriously, the only problem they have is they don’t license anything so the only thing you have is their shows.
Apple does license (has licensed) content from other studios.

They just don't do it all the time.

Tim has the looks and voice for newsprint.
But he lacks the charisma for even that. A so called "radio-face".

I watched the first episode of The Studio yesterday and had some good laughs. The funniest apple-show I've seen so far (followed by the peanuts), and not as mediocre-"trying hard to be everybody's darling"-as most of them. I just wished they had a bigger budget so they could hide cuts in their "long" takes better and also spend some more time on keying - but it works if you don't look closely, so that's probably just me.

I also wished that they'd license stuff internationally, not US-Only.

What a shame he didn’t show up. I’ll never forget his Oscar winning performance in the critically acclaimed “Mother Nature”!

In the scene Sarandos says multiple times that he "isn't creative" and "isn't an artist", that he's "just a bean counter"

You all would have lost your minds and it would've been clipped a billion times by the Apple hate parade if they had Tim on there with the same lines.

Not to mention it wouldn't have been as funny because Apple is notorious for not being able to laugh at itself (with minor exception Hair Force One who seems to embrace his ridiculousness). Overall, Apple's syrupy, maudlin, over-earnestness is impossible to satirize directly because it satirizes itself.

Meanwhile, Netflix is this behemoth content factory that people love to hate. Sarandos poking fun at himself and his own brand humanizes him.

That would’ve been horrible. Tim Cook’s stage/screen presence is wooden, awkward, and completely inauthentic

I didn’t like the studio.

It thinks it’s a biting satire like Succession, but it always pulls its punches:

‘Isn’t Hollywood crazy! But hey, we love this town anyway!’

Apple execs should stay clear of acting attempts. Their attempts at humor in their own promo videos are horrific. I really wish Apple would just stick to software and hardware, I know they have so much money they can try and do just about anything, but it feels they have really shifted focus and instead of being the ones who make the tools for the creatives, they want to BE the creatives themselves and doing things to pat themselves on the back.

I think it is important that we never forget so hopefully this is never repeated:

Seth needs to stop acting. He was never funny or a good actor.

Some of the international shows are licensed. For example, the first season of Tehran is licensed and was subsequently picked up and renewed by Apple.

They also used to have a rotating selection of movies, but I haven’t seen those in a while.

But those things are true of most executives.

It was renewed, so presumably their budget will increase a bit for next season.

Would have been fun to watch if Tim was present. Interesting to know about this!

Seth Rogen. Ugh. One of the most insufferable “comedy actors” out there, up there with Jack Black. Beyond painful to watch/listen to.

I would have liked this. Would have been cool.
I think his promo for Severance S2 graphically illustrated the full range of Timothy’s acting chops…
