So because Apple has high priced phones you want them to lose a court case that doesn’t relate to the price? Or because the price is high you want them to be punished, and therefore losing a court case would satisfy that?
Actually, it does indeed relate to the price, the cost of all of the licenses get factored in.

I absolutely positively want apple to be punished. Haven't they been punishing their loyal customers? Sorry the BS "you can buy something else" isn't gonna fly anymore. I dont want to buy something else. I want Apple to CHANGE.

The have been offering a wider range of prices. People just want to complain about the top of the line and ignore the entry-level products.

Wow. Just wow.

Here is the problem, Apple will not change as long as people keep buying their products. If you want QA/QC to improve, if you want them to stop being total idiots with stuff like this, you have to stop buying their products and let them know why so that they know what to fix.

Im thinking the increase in high end (and low end flagship with xr) has more to do with the fact that people aren't upgrading as often, so every manufacturer has raised their prices at the high end to attempt to squeeze more profit out of them, the expensive phones would have happened either way, it's just about how much profit the licensing is cutting out of the expensive phones.

"Unreasonable charging mode." If current prices are reasonable to Apple, I am afraid of their unreasonable.

Best statement this year. I don't think Apple realized that not everyone blindly follows, and pays any price they ask.

You really think at this point Apple doesnt know what to fix? Doesnt know what their customers are asking for? Of course they know. They ONLY care about money now. Every single penny of it.

News Flash: Apple has been a company with shareholders for years now. They've always cared about getting every last cent. Whatever high horse you think they were on never existed.

Really? Cause last year the phone came with a dongle. So things seem to be getting worse.
Their current strategy is price gouging and it will continue until something punches them in the nose.

The FAQ is full of holes. For example they claim Apple is not offering the older phones for sale in China, a fact even Qualcomm acknowledges.

I think that saying that FAQ is full of holes is being kind. I'd say that whoever wrote that either doesn't really know (or understand) much when it comes to this situation or is trying to mislead people. I won't offer a guess as to which is the case.

Can't appeal because it's a preliminary injunction and not a final verdict? Rubbish.

And they don't seem to understand the scope of the patent claims at issue.

We see this a lot, of course. People want to believe what they want to believe, and others are just dishonest in furtherance of their own preferences. When it comes to the Qualcomm - Apple situation in particular, there's a great deal of misinformation that gets continually spread. People rely on what others say rather than reading source documents for themselves and honestly trying to figure out what's really the case. And, I suspect, many choose who to believe based on who says what they themselves want to believe.

Bought my first Windows based laptop in a while because of the way Apple does business these days. Now adding censorship, and politics to the mix...I had enough. I must to admit....I really like the Microsoft Surface I purchased. Still have my iPad and iPhone, but if they keep doing the things they are doing those will be replaced soon.

Wait, so Apple is issuing a software up to address two of the patents... so they are admitting that they are in violation?

No. Apple claims to believe that it's already in compliance. But, since it will be a while before that's decided (and it faces a preliminary injunction that it's trying to get lifted or modified), it's saying that it is going to do a software update to make sure that it is in compliance.

Claim elements are, often enough, somewhat open to interpretation. So I wouldn't say definitively. I think it can reasonably be argued that Apple is infringing the claims from the '586 patent. But I think there's also a colorable argument that it isn't. When it comes to the '119 patent, I haven't been able to replicate all of the elements of the relevant claim. So I'm not sure what to think about that one. Regardless, both of those patents (or at least the claims at issue) should be fairly easy to design around without much loss of functionality for users.

"Qualcomm earlier this week won an import ban on iPhone 6s through iPhone X models, although Apple has argued the ban does not apply to devices running iOS 12, so it has continued sales for the time being."

Now, how can you possibly update to iOS 12 directly, if its banned ?

lol, poor apple. Such greed. I upgraded every single year until I got the 8+. After that you’ve never been worth the money.

I too upgraded every single year until the 7. Hopefully they bring something worth upgrading to next year. I’m sure whilst charging a fortune.

Technically the person you replied to still has time to upgrade every year.

I personally think the change from 6s to 7 was less than from 7 to 8 or 8 to Xr.
