Well, the ad did show some jumps and dodging actions.

In any case, it's just funny, and the timing made it even more hilarious. In the end, the ad can create an impression on consumers on what they can do with the device. And my conclusion is that Apple's PR is just not being top form lately. :)

It was a face palm for their support people, for sure. 'But how can you say my motorcycle killed it when your promo for the iPhone 13 showed someone using one?'

And, in the video, he did click it into something, some kind of holder, didn't he. Oops...

Awkward for sure...

How many people are actually out there using their expensive iPhone as an action camera? That’s what a GoPro is for.
Shot with a helmet mounted 11pro using Hitcase. GoPros are a pain. Extra batteries to charge. Memory cards to manage. Media moving around.

I haven’t left the house in 18 months let alone driven a motorcycle 😂

Corona + aged parents = hermit like existence 🤦‍♂️

Does this risk apply to cars where the iPhone is on a mount attached to the window? I ask because when I use mine for maps it does vibrate quite a bit. Also if this does apply why do apple sell the mounts on their store?

Good. Get rid of the motorcycles and pickup trucks.
Can't wait to see a contractor pulling up with ten pieces of plywood, buckets of motar, and tools in a Honda Civic.
Can't wait to see a family hauling a living room sofa set in a Mazda 3.
Can't wait to see a farmer loading up a ton of nitrogen with a Toyota Corolla.
Can't wait to see a tree trimming company show up pulling a tree shredder with a Toyota Prius.
Can't wait to see a recycling hauler loading up a VW Golf and hauling a trailer.
Can't wait to see a double door refrigerator hanging out the back of a Subaru WRX.
Can't wait to see a landscaping company unloading plants and dirt out of the back of a BMW Z4.
Can't wait to see a welder wheel a welder out of a Mini Cooper.

I doubt it, the issue is the frequency of the vibrations, and there will be so much "car" between the engine and window that there will have been a lot of dampening even on the most shaky of cars. That is why the emphasis is on motorcycles.

As for Apple, the mounts they sell are mainly intended for bicycles and they had been selling mounts since before all their phones had optical stabalization or closed-loop focus. The real question is why they do not have the nous to sell vibration reducing mounts!

It wasn't a Mazda 3, but I did personally see someone load an 8' couch onto the roof of their Chevy. I'm sure it was very dented by the time he got home, but the 'score' seemed worth it at the time. (Who knows, maybe it was a hit for the chickens/dogs/cows?

I'm sure it depends on the severity if the shocks encountered. On a suction cup window mount, assuming it's that type of mount, it likely softens that motion, rather than something more solidly connected to the vehicle. Just a guess... It's Physics...

It's not about shocks from the road. A phone mounted in a car is not subjected to the same amount of engine vibrations as a phone mounted to the handlebars of a motorcycle.
