What the heck! How am I supposed to take photos of all the pedestrians admiring me with envy while I blow out their eardrums revving my bike at stoplights, if my phone camera is broken??

Would it affect the phone camera less if it took my bike with illegally modified muffler less time than 45 seconds to hit 60mph? AMERICA BABY!

Lol who would even strap their phone directly to the motorcycle. Ever heard of pockets? Pockets with zipper even?
It’s not me who is going to use iPhone like this. It’s apple’s wording gives me such impression.

Have had this happen to me three times over the years on various adventure bikes. Most recently with a iPhone 11pro. My 12 pro I started putting in my pocket and then ordered a vibration mount from quad lock guys to try out. Order got lost so haven’t tried it yet but have a trip coming up! I’m off-road and the phones take a beating. Have always held up well except for the lens issue once in a while.

Sorry, I can't help myself.

On topic though, I assume this is just to get ahead of any potential lawsuits.

damn; but good thing I don't ever take photos with my iPhone camera lol; If I do its usually for emergencies which is rare. always got my a6400 on me or in my motorcycle side bag

I put my Iphone 11 in my handlebar, a BMW R1200R, every day, for almost an hour. 2 years now. Never had any problem.
Same here, I have mine mounted to the GPS mount via an adapter on my 1200GSA. Going strong for the past 3 years no issues.
I will say I’m looking at a quad lock kit with the vibration damper just for ease of use and it has nothing to do with the so call issues.

Old news, lol.

How many people are actually out there using their expensive iPhone as an action camera? That’s what a GoPro is for.
I don’t use it for the camera while mounted I use it for Waze, music and being able to be reached by work when I’m on call. A 90 mile commute all of these things come in handy. If I want to take pictures I use one of my Nikon cameras. The iPhone camera is great for quick and easy travel pictures when you may not have tour other cameras with.

picture below is an example. Flying at 45,000 feet over The tip of Greenland on the way to Amsterdam.

I question how much experience you have with Go-pros. The problem is, they overheat. If you subscribe to any major YouTube channels, most of them do use GoPro cameras, but it’s one of the biggest gripes discussed is that they overheat, which either causes a temporary shut down or even memory loss. For me, for an iPhone as an ‘action camera’, I’ve never had that happen, ever. So in that respect, the iPhone trumps GoPro without contest.

Ever heard of GPS? Turn-by-turn directions even?
GPS? Y'all mean those demon spawn devices that tells you to turn left onto a nonexistent street? 👴I'm an old school paper map guy.👴

I think you're missing a decimal there. 0 to 60 in 45 seconds is rather leisurely.🤙

A one minute search of Google quickly shows that cell phone cameras be damaged by motorcycle vibrations. For example, quoting MotoGPS, "Part of the enjoyment of riding a motorcycle is the feeling of the engine vibrating through the handlebars and the whole chassis. However, between a certain frequency band, these vibrations may damage the sensitive optical image stabilisation components of your smartphone rendering the camera inoperative." So Apple publishes an advisory of an already known fact and people get salty.

I’ve got all the quad lock gear. Just looking for a way on my GSA to run the wire for the USB charger unit I got from the battery up to the bars where the quad lock is.

I thought they would use a head up display for that.
Motorcycle helmet HUDs are still in a “yeah it works, but…” state. There are a few models out there, but they’re expensive and not really ready for widespread adoption.

TFT displays for the dash gauges are becoming more common and are a logical place to display turn-by-turn directions synced from a phone. I have a TFT dash on my newest bike, but despite it working with my iPhone’s music and phone, it doesn’t do GPS. Which is a shame, because there’s plenty of room on the display.

I get voice prompts over my helmet speakers for turn-by-turn, but it would definitely be nice to have visual cues, too.
