My status on the ups website and app is still “label made” (same status as 8.50 this morning) The package has not arrived at UPS yet and I also didn’t get a delivery time frame SMS. I’m afraid my watch won’t be delivered tomorrow? Or do more people still have the ‘label is made’ status and nothing more?
 
That won’t change until tomorrow after 8pm. . If you’ve already pre-ordered and secured a watch, then you’ll have a pick up time.

There was an option to pre-order for in-store pickup and when I looked at it there was a Friday and a Saturday option. There’s a good chance there’ll be no walk-ins for a day and maybe two I reckon.
 
Does anyone know when they open up pre-orders for in-store pickup? It still says "Apple Store Pickup is currently unavailable" on the product page. Is there a specific time on Friday (I guess during morning) when this option becomes available?

Pre-orders for in-store pickup were definitely open on the day of the announcement - I took this option while ordering mine; Friday 20th and Saturday 21st pickup time slots were bookable.

I suspect that enough people have chosen that option to mean that it is booked up for a while now...

Very interesting that some are having theirs delivered by DHL and some by DPD. I suppose Apple doesn't want to place the entire burden with one company for it to collapse in ruins... My Ultra 2 is coming tomorrow by DPD.
 
Can anyone remind me if Apple only charges your card when an item is about to be dispatched? I’ve reordered a couple of Hermes but they’re not due to be delivered until the end of October.
 
John Lewis despatched my watch yesterday but the DPD app is showing this morning that DPD do not have the parcel yet so I guess that means no delivery today. Bit disappointing but then I only ordered it 2 days ago so I can’t really complain if I don’t get it bang on release day!
 
My watch is coming via UPS and currently it’s been processed at the nearest UPS facility. I did have a message saying it would be arriving by midday. I’m not that confident.
 
I remember back to May 2010 when I had the first iPad delivered to my office. Since then I’ve bought a load of stuff from the Apple Store, instore and delivered. It’s always been well organised and reliable.

But this AW10 order is a bit of a shambles. I ordered as soon as the store opened to pre-orders and made sure it was a bog standard combo of watch and strap. All along my store account has said delivery date 20 September. It still says this. However, tracking via the DHL website says delivery will be on Monday (Northern Ireland). But I keep getting texts from DHL saying they’ll let me know when it’s out for delivery, implying that it’s today.

A pain.
 
Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I don't have a few thousand outstanding on my credit card for all of these pre-orders as my statement cut-off is next week.
It seems to vary. They must be processing a million orders around the world. I think the basic rule is that once your name is on the physical device your credit card is charged, initially as pending, and then the money is taken when it’s dispatched.

However, earlier this year when I bought an iPad Pro M4 my credit card was charged a few days after I received it. I was on the verge of phoning Apple to remind them to charge me. With this AW10 order the money was taken from my credit card very soon after the pre-order was placed. All a bit random.

Ordered Black UW2 from Costco - not even shipped yet. Saved a few ££ over Apple but not a good experience. They took the money on order but no further updates. Won't be using them again, looks like it might be next week who knows.
