Anyone pre ordered the Series 10 cellular from Amazon ?
Not heard a thing about delivery on it yet, waiting on Amazon to send an email with a delivery date :(
Same, but Apple Ultra Watch 2 Black Slate. I pre-ordered it few days ago and still waiting for a delivery date.

Do Apple create the watch combinations in the back and bring them out to customers?

So in their back store there’s a large pile of Series 10, Ultra 2 watches, and all sorts of separate bands?

Also has anyone actually been able to photograph what actually is back there, just out if interest 🫣😂

Unpair your old watch but keep your data plan. If you remove your data plan, then you will lose it.

This isn't the case. I've reset my watch on EE to factory settings a couple of times and removed the data plan, fully expecting to have to call EE to sort it out. After setting up the watch from scratch the data plan just pops back up when you go into the mobile service settings.

I’m upgrading from a 1st Gen SE and looking forward to seeing the differences!
I was going to order online and go for the 46mm in silver with a green rubber strap but now I’m torn to go for the black with the blue textile sport loop. I’m not sure if the black case will look too similar to my space grey SE?

I’ve got a couple of Nomad Sport bands as well and love them, I just hope they fit properly on the ‘10’
Going to head into my local store today and make my mind up, hopefully the have what I go for in stock so I can get it today 😁

I'm with EE and have always needed to call them to link the looooong EID number on the back of the box

I didn't think there was a way of it just popping up and no requirement to call... very odd how that works for you

Picked up my Series 10 46mm jet black this morning.

upgraded from Series 7 and I’m so impressed!!
It looks incredible in this colour and it’s so slim and light, more than I thought it would be, so much so that I almost forget I’m wearing it.

Same, when changing watches.
It sounds like the post you quoted meant same watch, after reset, so that might not need a call to EE…

Torn between S10 Slate and U2 black…
Never had an Ultra before, and at least for now, feel really… conscious when it’s on, if that makes sense?
S10 on the other hand don’t even know it’s there!!
2 weeks to decide which one goes back, but feel like I’ll play it safe and keep the S10

Just comes down do you mind charging it more? If not then go series 10

Picked up my 10 today as I was away for work until this morning.

I’d gone for store pick up anyway as I was getting a solo strap and wanted to check size.

Unfortunately they didn’t have a smaller size black band in stock so I’ve gone for the ink sport loop.

The in store band swap wasn’t as easy as I’d have expected - surely they have a lot of people buying that strap.

This was factory-resetting and setting up the same watch - not a new one. Perhaps I should have clarified that.

I was just making the point that you can remove the data plan on a watch but it will come back when you pair the same watch again - you won't lose it completely.

It really is about time that EE automated transferring the plan to a new watch, though - Vodafone and Three can do it (and maybe O2 - haven't tried their watch data plan).

Yeah it’s not the end of the world if you need a new plan but I only pay £5 a month for mine and if I go to a new plan then it’s £7. Not a dealbreaker but….🙂
2 questions:

1. How do you add an Apple Watch to your EE account. I’ve looked on the app and online when logged into my account but I can’t find the option, except to buy an Apple Watch

2. Are you paying £5 a month because of a student discount?

I’ll be ordering the S10 in a few days when I get back from holiday.

im with EE but through work, business account. No idea how I’m going to be able to add a watch to that account! Anyone done that before?

My boss is cool with most stuff like this, and he might even be happy to let me take it out my wage each month for the watch plan (as it’s for casual use).

Looks like dates have slipped for delivery, was still showing as release day last night around 11pm.

In-store collections is still possible on the day. I've gone for the following for an in-store pickup:

46mm Jet Black Aluminium with Midnight Sky Nike Sport Band

Picked up the watch at the local Apple Store yesterday - Very seamless, the store itself was quite busy (12noon). My partner managed to buy one in store as well so plenty of stock.

Pair your iPhone to you Apple Watch and go through all the questions.

When it asks to add a service plan skip it, then continue

Once completed give EE a call and speak to the Tech Dept. and tell them you wish to connect your iPhone to your new Apple Watch. Have your watch box ready as on the back EE will require the very long EID number.

The process takes about 5-10min depending on who you get on the other line, longest part is waiting to be put through as they are obviously busy at this time new releases.

Yes, this is spot-on. @H-B0mb as described here. I first had a Sim plan with the series 3 and EE were only charging £5 a month. A year later they pushed the charge up to £7 a month but because I was on a contract with them already I was able to keep it going at £5 a month.
So as Leebroath says, you can buy an Apple Watch from anywhere and then once you’ve set it up, you can call EE and set up an account for a data plan with them and then you just give them the long EID number and you’ll be up and running within 10 minutes.
If you buy new watch, then you have to ring EE tech Support and give them the new EID number of the new watch so that they can transfer your plan to that number.
I think you can do it yourself with other carriers, but EE seem to have this long-winded way of doing it but I’ve never had an issue and I change my watch every year.

Just to note that some of the new EE tariffs include “free” watch data now.

It’s still extortionate vs some networks but at least I don’t feel they’re overcharging on the watch data now.
Ah. I literally upgraded my sim only a couple of months ago

I was able to set up my Series 10 (first cellular) Watch without calling EE. Or have I missed the point on the previous posts?

Or maybe I have missed the point with EE - I have just checked my account and I have 2 entries, for 2 different phone numbers, on is my phone, and the other I assume must be my Watch plan, although it has a different phone number and renews on 2nd October (I would expect 20th, as I set it up on Friday).

I appear to have missed the point - I followed the prompts when setting up the cellular service on my Watch, but EE appears to have given the watch a completely different number in their app. I switched my iPhone off and called it from a landline, the Watch did not ring, and the call just went to voicemail. Messages from the Watch, when the phone is off, are coming through as SMS, but in the normal iMessage thread. iMessage replies came through to the Watch, still in the thread.

After failing to call the Watch (with the iPhone off) on my usual number, I also tried calling the number for the Watch on my EE account, and that just said "unavailable". How am I supposed to get calls to my Watch?

I am now on hold to EE trying to find out.

Your watch will have its own individual phone number and should appear as such on your EE billing plan.
You can check if the Sim in your watch is activated by going to the watch app on your phone, selecting mobile service and the mobile plan should have EE below it

The issues about EE relate to moving between watches or iPhones rather than activating as a new user.
