Well next week we shall see whose rumors were right. I'd like to float this suggestion. GPS is great for sports and exercise but I don't need it for a work or dress watch. How bout a 42mm model sport that comes with GPS and a 38 mm model without for work or dress. I'd happily buy a 38mm with bigger battery, thinner screen, more powerfull processor, better waterproofing and watch O3S.

I don't see the point of adding a load of new SKUs just to remove a chip that likely doesn't change the shape of the watch at all, or otherwise impact the use of internal space and components. Just turn the thing off if you don't need it. It's not going to increase your cost to have it.

Aren't they already doing that? The "refreshed" Watch1 model (updated processor), and the Watch2 model (including GPS). Same sizes available

All I want is for it to be faster (no multi-second lag every time I tap something) and for my current stable of watch bands (I have an obscene number) to fit. That's it. Anything more than that for me will be gravy. :)

I can't wait for the Watch 2. I would like the new watch to be...

1: Faster - It's very slow at loading apps.
2: Better battery - When using the watch the battery drains far too quickly.
3: Slimmer design - Keep the same shape. Just make it slimmer. (Nothing wrong with current size but would be interesting to see the watch have a slimmer design)
4: For the watch to not rely on the iPhone as much.
5: Facetime camera. Imagine!!

faster at loading apps - this is expected with a new processor
slimmer design - more lightweight; bigger battery though will result in slightly being heavier
better battery - would like to have at least 2-3 days before having to charge.. wishful thinking.

From what you've said about WatchOS 3 it sounds a good update. I'm planning on getting the 42mm watch face when Watch 2 comes out.

I suppose my list would be something like:
1. Wi-fi: bluetooth range really doesn't work for me inside my office and home. Perhaps not straight out wifi, but something equivalent.
2. battery: it doesn't have to last 1 week or anything. just 30 hrs, so that I don't have to worry about my watch on transatlantic or transpacific flights, and still hold charge till I get to my destination (hotel, home, etc. from airport).
3. sensors: Perhaps not just physical sensors. Wish I could dial 911 straight away from my watch. Say, some of its sensors picked up irregularity. I could totally recommend it to more of my friends and families for medical purposes. And I could use that help as well.
4. Design-wise, Slimmer: Current AW works, but not exactly most fashionable due to its unusual thickness. It can look bulky time to time.

#1. Feature already exists
#2. Agree
#3. While the sensor part doesn't exist yet, WatchOS3 does have the emergency dialing feature
#4. Agree. Not as bad as I feared but it is not slim

I'd like to see a 46mm apple watch. Even better if they were to also reduce the bezels on the display at the same time. I have 190mm wrists I can barely close the strap on the 38mm while the 42mm still looks a bit too small. The Gear S3 definitely looks tempting especially if the 4 day battery life is on point.

Edit: Custom watch faces is sorely needed too.

1. Barometer
2. Digital Compass
3. Proximity Sensor on front so screen doesn't turn on when covered (like under shirt sleeve)
4. Faster processor
5. Faster wifi (802.11 ac)
6. Bluetooth 4.2

This makes much more sense than an always-on display.

(although I wonder if it already turns off like when you cover it with the palm of your hand)

Whether the first generation didn't quite do it for you; You never buy first gen Apple products on principle; Or you bought the first generation Watch and there are things you dislike... Whatever your reason: What does everyone want to see in the second generation Apple Watch?

I'll get the ball rolling:
>More capable away from iPhone
>Faster: Everyone complains about app loading times. Not sure if this is because the apps aren't native of just the processor is slow to save battery life.
>The same battery life, or better. I don't mind charging the watch every night. 18 hours of mixed use would get me from my 5.30am start to half past 11 at night.

well I think a non GPS version is very possible. they could call it the "Series 1" and give it the upgraded processor. the extra SKU's should not be a major problem. Oh wait, that's just what they did! Your'e welcome.

Im on the fence about upgrading. Im not a heavy runner but I do run sometimes and I usually bring the phone then. A bit bummed they didn't include new sensors or features like blood oxygen level, temperature and UV exposure.

The FaceTime camera is understandable missing. Why waste space on a guaranteed low Mpixel camera without OIS, flash and no real use more than the one time tried videocall that ends with 20% battery used up within minutes..

I will try out watchOS 3 first and see if I really need to upgrade.

All I wanted was GPS but when they added water proofing it was like a christmas present, I can't want to order it but struggling with whether to get black or silver stainless steel or sports grey, as I will be using this for fitness (swimming included).

I'd like to have the nightstand view face that currently only works while on charger and in landscape mode available as a regular face in portrait mode.

For those of you annoyed there's no round face Apple Watch, you could do like I do and wear a different mechanical watch on the other wrist. After all, if you just want to have an expression of your individuality, that works for me.
