I've been keeping a list of features but the one I want most, software wise, is more communication with Apple devices and computers. I'd like to be able to connect it to my iPad as well and have Procreate's iPhone/Watch features supported on the iPad too, or being able to control music on any other idevice. Currently it supports connecting it to a Mac computer's iTunes app but nothing beyond that.

In general I guess I'd like iOS and OSX devices to communicate better. If my iPad is near my iMac I should be able to access all my music, videos, and photos that haven't been transferred to the device. And then the watch should be able to get in on that action too.

Bluetooth is named after that king chap that united countries. Imagine the look on the kings face if he knew that his name was applied to tech that communicates between two peers only? He'd be appalled.

I'd like the whole thing to be made of sapphire. I'm sick of all the scratches on the casing next to the pristine screen.

Camera on side, raise wrist just like reading the watch face and take a photo.

Please no and please be sensible here. Beyond the typical reasoning why not a camera in a watch (practicality, ergonomics etc.) is the other issues like privacy in certain places (either work or playgrounds with kids etc.).
I hope Apple is sensible enough not to incorporate such a stupid (sorry for that word but it really is) idea.

Your use of the word "stupid" directed at my comment is an entirely inappropriate way to interact with people here on the forum.

I'm being entirely sensible. At some point Apple Watch won't need to have iPhone nearby, so it will be a truly solo device and when you need to take a quick photo without your iPhone, you can, with Apple Watch. It would be a great feature.

Holding your arm and wrist horizontal, essentially in the same position you take when reading the time, the camera looks out, and you can see the image on screen and take a photo, a quick snap. Totally ergonomical and simple for one off shots. I'm not talking about recording a feature length film on Apple Watch.

As for privacy concerns, rubbish, they are the same as those concerns that can be levelled at current devices hidden in a shirt pocket, or glasses with an embedded camera.

That's all fine and dandy until someone wants to wear it with the crown on the left.

Privacy concerns aside (which are legitimate), try to figure out how to fit the cameras inside the case without making it unnecessarily fat (or making the battery smaller).

You do realize all your statements could just as easily have been applied to phones 10 years ago, right?

"Privacy concerns... blah blah blah..." Everyone with a camera in their phone! Oh no! So sneaky! Right or wrong, the average person doesn't really care anymore. IMO you can just as easily take a picture of someone (or something) with your phone without them knowing it as you can with your watch. As long as you have your phone muted, if not then it's kind of embarrassing. :p

"Try fitting a camera in a phone (especially a good camera)... rabble rabble..." Again, advancement of technology. It's going to happen. I wish they didn't put cameras in iPads but they didn't ask me so what can I do?

There are no privacy concerns here, at least no more so than other capture devices. Cameras make a snap noise when they capture also. Apple can figure it out, camera assemblies are tiny today. You've presented non issues. Start with manual iPod click wheel, it turns into a touch wheel. Start with rolling mouse wheel, it turns into a touch mouse and a touch pad. Get the clue about the future? Things change. Seems all you wanted to do here was vent your "dumber" remark at me and at the same time make no useful contribution to the forum.

I don't know why you're taking this so personally. The idea, which is older than this thread, is dumb, and it's dumb enough for Samsung to abandon it, and for LG, Huawei, Garmin, and Motorola to not bother with it.

I put the idea forward. The reply was directly to my idea. So I own the idea in this particular instance. Saying it is dumb, or stupid as did the previous commenter, is a direct insult. That's why I take it personally. Plus there is other language one can tap in to in expressing themselves as well instead of using "stupid", and "dumb".
Samsung may have abandoned it, and LG, Huawei, Garmin, and Motorola not touched it just means they either did it wrong or just can't do it. That's all. It doesn't mean it can't be done well, be entirely useful and a great addition to the device especially when Apple Watch no longer requires iPhone nearby.

I said sorry for the word in the brackets just to emphasise that I don't mean to insult you. The idea IS stupid and if we are going to be talking about words here are you telling me that you never in your life say that something is stupid? Or what would it take for you to say it?
There are amazing ideas, there are good ideas, there are bad ideas and there are simply dumb/stupid ideas. I put camera on a watch in the last category. Maybe one day in the future when the form etc. changes and things in society change also but for now, it is just plain stupid for zillion reasons. (takes valuable space for what it offers, there would need to be compromises not worth the benefits, position for taking pics (the pic you posted suggests that its in the band itself), quality of the camera and so on and so on.) - all these for what? To have a tool for "quick snaps" that will be for the price of many compromises? NO! Simply NO!

We could all go here and write pages of why camera in this tiny device utterly silly (better label?) but I sincerely hope that the picture is painted here and there is no need to further dwell on the silliness :)

You're speaking as if it's 1999 and 5MP and 8MP cameras are a long way off and so huge to implement. The digital crown is more bulky than a camera.
The camera idea stands as a solid way forward if done right.
This is more than just a camera, it's about a consistent user experience across devices as well. If I don't have my phone, but want to capture something, I can use my watch. Simple. It's not a complex issue.

Personally my vote is for cellular data/GPS, at least as an option. I'd really like to be able to use it independently of my phone when needed, such as when I'm on a run. I'd also like it to communicate with other devices besides my iPhone, such as sending Health data to my iPad and Mac as well (although that would require those things to have native apps, hmm).

The workout app is way behind the curve.

How hard is it to put an interval timer in there? Or allow customized workouts? Warmup, work, rest, work, rest, cooldown.

And a lap function that not only shows the last lap but the current lap time.

So simple. This and GPS are some of the reasons people haven't ditched their Garmins.

GPS aside, isn't there an app for that?

If not, Apple has tutorials for writing in Xcode. There are classes you can take, too.

Go get 'em!

No standalone native apps. And none that also incorporate the heart rate data.

Which reminds me, they also don't have custom heart rate zones and don't display the MAXHR%.

Sounds like an opportunity missed by the other developers. Time to take it into your own hands. As Steve Jobs said in 1997 Macworld's Q&A, "What are you waiting for?"

(I'm fine with Apple's own Workout app staying simple, because (1) it can't be all things to all athletes without becoming amazingly complicated, and (2) nobody is stopping other developers from writing their own apps for specific niches)

Things I would like to see improved in the next Watch.

1) Improved Siri. I use Siri a lot to send text messages and most of the time Siri doesn't get my message correct. When this happens if I try the same message using Siri on my iPhone it usually goes out correctly.

2) I'd like improved phone functions. As it is, when I use the Watch to send or receive a call, people complain that they have a very hard time understanding me.

3) I'd like improved functionality with emails. When I receive an email notification, I'd like to very easily delete that message in the notification. As is now, I have to scroll down to the bottom and on long emails that is a real pain.
