Hello!
I have AW series 7.
Yesterday I noticed that during an incoming call, on the watch , it no longer shows me first letter which card the call is from - eSIM ot Nano.

Is this the case with you (who use two sim card) after Watch OS 9?

I‘m unfortunately in the same boat. Not sure when it started, but I guess since iOS 16 and watchOS 9. I‘m running now on iOS 16.1 and watchOS 9.1 but the problem still persists. This is on my cellular AW5. My iPhone 13 mini (dual eSIM) shows the SIM badge correctly, but it‘s missing on my watch.
I‘ll have a chat with apple regarding this and keep you posted.

Is someone else facing the same problem, or even better, not haveing this problem despite running iOS 16 and watchOS 9?

Meanwhile I‘ve had a chat with Apple. They told me to unpair and pair my AppleWatch, but this didn‘t changed anything at all. For further steps I was asked to call them by phone. I‘ll try this next

Update: I‘m still in contact with Apple (several hours in total via phonecall) but so far no news. We tried different things, collected logs of my watch and iPhone but the problem still persists. Currently I‘m on the newest releases (iOS 16.1.2 and watchOS 9.1).
In the meantime I gave a try and plugged in an additional SIM to my wife‘s iPhone. And there we have it, the same problem (no badge visible on the watch to distinguish which SIM was called). This was also an iPhone 13 (not mini) and a AW5. As soon as you pick up the call on the watch, you‘ll see the SIM badge - but not before (when it would be crucial).

Can you please do me a favour guys, if you have dual SIM running on your phone and haveing an Apple Watch? Please test if you see the SIM badge on the watch when it rings. Also let me please know which iPhone and watch you are useing. I‘m currious because Apple says it‘s a unknown problem to them. Your help is very appreciated, thank you!

I'm on the same boat (turning into a ship, isn't it?), using an iPhone 14 Pro (EU model, with a physical sim + one esim) with iOS 16.2 and an Apple Watch 4 GPS with watchOS 9.2.
@Fixu86, I can confirm that the badge DOES show after answering the call.

Another thing I noticed is that there's no way of changing the line when dialling a number from the watch's keypad, though the letter is shown once the call starts (just like you suggested with incoming calls).

(As an off-topic aside, I wish the letter were bigger on the phone when calls come in. It's tiny! But still better than none at all like on the watch.)

I‘ve had several calls with Apple including installing profiles on my devices and collecting logs. At the end, they said it‘s a known issue which is under investigation. So hopefully it should be get fixed somewhen.
They had also a workaround which unfortunately didn‘t work on my watch. Try to play around with the font size on the watch (set it to smallest and back to your desired size). And same with the setting bold font on the watch (toggle on/off). Perhaps it helps someone, otherwise we have to wait and hope for a fix

i loved that recommendation to turn down the font size and turn off the bold face. Now i not only couldn’t see which line has an incoming call, but I also could not read my notifications or messages. Brilliant!!! 😉

No difference for me.

Yup I have started the other thread about same issue. I can’t believe they are not able to fix this since November 🙈🙈

iOS 16.4 and watchOS 9.4 are out and, guess what, still unsolved! I honestly start loosing any faith in Apple fixing this bug 😟

Nevertheless this feature is still advertised in the official Apple Watch user guide (page 253):

I quote:
How Apple Watch receives calls when using multiple cellular plans
When Apple Watch is connected to your iPhone: You can receive calls from both lines.
Your watch shows a badge that tells you which cellular line you received a notification from-H for Home, and W for Work, for example. If you respond to a call, your watch automatically responds from the line that received the call.

And here the same even with a picture showing the badge (good old times…)

Can confirm, I thought it was solved because I started a call with Siri through the AW and the badge showed up... but it still doesn't appear when *receiving* calls.
(As a side note, I really wish the AW also showed data from screening apps like TrueCaller.)

Absolutely ridiculous. Yes I have tested it last night only to be disappointed again.

Since the (mis)behavior is still the same with the current releases, I wonder how it is with watchOS 10.
May a beta user test and report it here? Would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance and keep fingers crossed

In the meantime the public beta is available. Can please someone test (with dual SIM enabled on the iPhone) if the watch is showing the correct line badge while ringing? This would be awesome :)
