Apple Watch activation after receiving?

Sorry if this has been covered before... Do we have any info on how we set up our apple watches once they arrive? Do we just sync them with the phone or is there an activation process like the iPhones? Do they come preinstalled or tied to our appleID?
 
I believe the answer is in the first Welcome to Apple Watch video, iirc. Anyway, the watch comes up with graphic that you scan with the iPhone's camera. And that's it.

I just checked that one and it doesn't seem to explain that part... I am curious to know if it really is as simple as holding the watch up to the phones camera.

Awesome! Was worried they might be tied to apple ID's. (I am one of the impatient people who got one on eBay for $40 more then apple... 🙄) Better then my June delivery date for my original 38mm SG order though...
