Yeah, actually I am just gonna pull out my iPhone from my pocket and check the time, rather than spending $500-$1000 just for the sake of checking the time and acting cool....

If you think that's all it does this obviously isn't the watch for you.

----------

Apple has seriously lost it. I'll rather buy new Patek Philip on any given day then 10K electronic watch. Seriously, what is Apple thinking?!?

If you wouldn't buy it then you're obviously not the market they were marketing a 10k watch to..... but all of their 10k watches will sell out and sell out immediately I bet you.....

----------

The Sport version, should really be the main version, in silver, space gray and gold @ $349 Then they should have a upgraded stainless steel in silver, space gray and gold @ $549 and that is it. The "Edition" price is insulting, the lack of gold on the other versions is insulting and makes me worry about the future of Apple. Why is my gold iPhone/iPad/newMacbook the same price, but if I want a watch in gold, I have to be rich.

BTW, I don't want gold anything, I am just making a point.

Ummmm you know your gold phone, computer and ipad aren't real gold right.... the apple watch IS real gold... you can't understand that? So yeah, if you want a gold apple watch you need to have a decent amount of cash to toss around.

These are the prices for high end bracelets.
My Omega Seamaster bracelet made of titanium needs to be replaced and to get a new one is $450 at the Omega Boutique.

My issue with the :apple:Watch is more about being obsolete in 12 to 24 months while the Omega can last generations. Sure I understand one watch does way more than tell time, but I would not pay top dollar to get it.
I wonder if Apple will announce a trade program for the very high end watches.

The watch might not be but that $450 dollar band could last generations.

----------

with price like this, they could've at least give the Sporty version a saphire glass.. but nooooooo:rolleyes:

I do agree with this complaint!

I know apple is new to the watch thing, but someone really needs to tell them $250 for a leather strap is not right.

It seems you've never purchased a high-end, designer watch.

Are you implying that the Apple iWatch is a high-end, designer watch?

This is volume China manufacturing.

----------

People called Apple overpriced before. THIS is what overpriced means!

Maybe that's the tactic - how to make the bread and butter products seem like better value?

I've never owned anything for my wrist that cost more than $100, so it's all new to me. I like the changing bands because my Fitbit gave me one of those rashes. For some reason Fitbit doesn't offer third party bands or any other material that would help those of us who had issues.

I'll eventually get one of the sport models, but Imma wait until they go on sale.

This is Apple we are talking about. Their devices don't go on sale until they are no longer supported. At which point the Watch is useless since it won't be able to communicate with that version of iOS or iPhone.

Personally I think allowing the users to keep the bands from year to year would be more palatable, and would improve the likelihood of people upgrading they Apple Watch each year.

Unless the bands are subsidizing the cost of the watch, in which case they need to keep the watch/band ratio stable from year to year.
