Right, I make an effort to keep it in that range :)

Previously, I didn't sleep with it on, so it would often be at 100% (every morning). Now I charge it while I'm working at my desk and might take it off the charger when it's 75%, maybe 90%, just depends.
I charge at night, so it goes to 100 every time, but after 2.5 hrs at 86% is fine with me... will see what it’s at in Sep when we should expect S7 and will make decisions then

Found a used SS S5 at a reasonable price. Battery health is at 86%. Should I go for it?

I wonder if the Edition models have a more durable battery than the standard AW. I say that because Apple guarantees the Edition battery for two years. It would be interesting to see peoples' Edition battery health stats. I've had my AW6 Ti version since last September and it's still on 100% health. I deliberately try not to leave it on charge once it hits 100%.

same battery in all models and you can get AC+ for any model ...

No, the battery's the same. The Edition and Hermès models get an extra year of support as a perk of their higher prices.

Might be same battery, but it comes with a two year warranty WITHOUT AC. That’s my point. Edition models have a standard two year warranty and it includes the battery. This is not AC.

You’re probably right. I was intrigued as to whether they put more highly tested batteries in the Edition. Presumably Apple tests each battery and not all are made equal.

or, for the premium, price, AC+ is included free of charge and its called warranty ...

My series 5, purchased around two months after they first came out, is down to 89% battery health. Still makes it the full day but down to ~25% as compared with the ~40% when it was new.

Will probably replace it with a series 7. I'm curious about the O2 sensor as I've become interested in improving my VO2 as my fitness improves (running 5+ days per week lately).

How to check battery health for the watch? I’m not finding under settings in my iPhone watch settings

Update found in watch settings series 4 at 95%

Launch day S7, heating up daily on a belkin 3-1 MagSafe charger, still at 100% battery health.

On the watch, in the settings, go all the way down and under battery you’ll find battery health. Not on the phone.

It's just my experience, but the Series 5 battery deteriorated worse than any Apple Watch that I've ever had. I have had every series except the Series 6. I know that's a bit anecdotal. I think Apple has made some good improvements on battery life with AOD since the Series 5. My Series 7 has performed much better in all areas.

My S4 watch after 2 years and 4 months was at 78% battery health and I have been using Apple Magnetic Chargin Dock with 5W brick since day one.

I am very disapointed with the health of the battery as Apple advertises that AW should retain 80% battery health after 1000 cycles which is double what iPhone. Initially, when I got the watch, I didnt even charge is daily, so my guess is that my watch perhaps had 500-600 cycles and battery dropped below 80% - way sooner thant what Apple advertises.

My S4 (purchased Jan. 2019) is at 86% battery health. Charged and used daily. Although, now my battery % is in the teens by the end of the day (usually have 1hr of workout/cycling time there.)

Thought about upgrading to the S6 last year, but held off on it.
Thinking about the S7 now with my battery slowly getting worse.

SE 44mm
~1.5 years old (purchased not long after launch day)
~92% battery health (of course, the reported health is an estimate)
~2 days per charge/cycle (will probably change when summer activities kick in)

If I get three to four years usage, I am okay with that — assuming I want to replace my watch when battery health sinks below 80% and the battery degredation is linear, which it typically is not.

Your battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles. The one-year warranty (for Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport) and two-year warranty (for Apple Watch Edition) include service coverage for a defective battery. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery service. Prices and terms may vary.

Charge your Apple lithium-ion battery whenever you want. There’s no need to let it discharge 100% before recharging. Apple lithium-ion batteries work in charge cycles. You complete one charge cycle when you’ve used (discharged) an amount that equals 100% of your battery’s capacity — but not necessarily all from one charge. For instance, you might use 75% of your battery’s capacity one day, then recharge it fully overnight. If you use 25% the next day, you will have discharged a total of 100%, and the two days will add up to one charge cycle. It could take several days to complete a cycle. The capacity of any type of battery will diminish after a certain amount of recharging. With lithium-ion batteries, the capacity diminishes slightly with each complete charge cycle. Apple lithium-ion batteries are designed to hold at least 80% of their original capacity for a high number of charge cycles, which varies depending on the product.
