My S7 45mm is on 89% battery health after only 13 months.😯
😔 I'm really disappointed.

  • Night using for sleep tracker
  • AOD off
  • Battery lasts for 1-1.5 days

👉🏻 What are your experiences with the S7 and its battery health (months/current %)?

I have a Series 6 44mm titanium that I bought about 1.5 years ago the battery life is at 82%, just got off with Apple support they are going to replace the watch as I only have about 500 charge cycles on it they said that percentage would be after 1000 charge cycles.

🤔 For free?

S7 bought on launch day w/ many laps & miles and @ 97% now.

Ultra also bought @ launch w/ less laps & miles obviously & still @ 100%

I’ll say this. Regarding battery percentage. My Apple Watch Series 5 can‘t hold a charge for crap. And I know that once it goes below 80% health, I can get a replacement for $80. But guess what? The damn thing won’t go below 80%. I think it’s on purpose. Apple are sneaky bastards.

How did they determine the count of charge cycles? My S6 SBTi is showing 80%. I suppose I could wait if I must, but if cycle count would get them to do it now…

thanks.

It is possible to find out yourself, google it. It’s a bit convoluted but the info is accessible.

Not exactly:

Your battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles. The one-year warranty (for Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport) and two-year warranty (for Apple Watch Edition) include service coverage for a defective battery. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery service. Prices and terms may vary.

Nonetheless, 82% is a little low. I’d expect more like upper 80s, perhaps even low 90s.

In comparison, updating my previous stats:
SE 44mm
~1.5 years old (purchased not long after launch day)
~92% battery health (of course, the reported health is an estimate)
~2 days per charge/cycle (will probably change when summer activities kick in)
The watch is now
• 838 days (~27.5 months) old
• 86% battery health

If I do a quick estimate of charge cycles:

1. 365 days at about 2 days charge equals about 183 full charge cycles
2. 838 days minus 365 days equals 473 days
3. 473 days at about 1.5 days charge equals about 315 full charge cycles
4. 183 plus 315 equals 498
— I’d guess the range is probably -/+ 60

In another comparison, my iPhone’s battery finally dropped below 80% estimated/calculated health, occurring sometime between 985 and 1007 full charge cycles. Surprisingly, at 78%, iOS still states, “Your battery is currently supporting normal peak performance."

They ran the diagnostics on the phone then a separate test on just the battery
