i joined today because I have been so angry since this morning and wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat, and indeed looks like I am not the only one.

42 BCB 4/24-5/8 delivery got shipment notification yesterday, and my package right now is in some kind of stasis.

Looks like whats going on is the classic buckle watches that were processed yesterday all have the wrong bands. Apple realized it, which is why the tracking says "Package in transit to UPS" because UPS doesn't have them. Some have updated with a RETURN TO SENDER and others, like mine, are just in limbo. Looks like yours was actually delivered. You''ll notice the package weight is also off.

As a former employee I now have concrete evidence to say definitively that Apple has indeed botched this launch. Completely unnacceptable.

If this is indeed the case, it explains why Apple insists that the OP sends the watch back. They want to recover the whole batch of watches with misplaced bands, and bury their mistake.

I think MacRumors should report this on their front webpage.

So what this thread means is that I have a possibility that Apple screws up my order and I get a $7,000 gold / bright red modern buckle instead of my black sport one! :)

i order in the lunch 2 watches one withe the leather and one with the black sport band for my wife

okay, that makes more sense. thanks

That looks exactly like the status from my SS Milanese that arrive 24 April.

In my professional opinion, it has been sent by truck to the UPS Hub in Louisville KY and will go out for delivery tomorrow.

There's nothing indicating a return to the warehouse, a redirect to Apple, or a second alternate tracking number if the package was relabeled to go to another destination.

The most likely reason there is no scan in Louisville is they haven't gotten to or finished unloading the truck.

Well, what your profession opinion is not seeing is the destination that is not shown on this screen grab; it's Elk Grove, CA. My watch is going to the same place and it just got a departing scan out of Louisville. A bunch of watched have been pulled, especially out of Harrisburg, PA, and reroute do back to Apple.

Mine never showed the ultimate destination. Also, it would show a redirect request - most of the time.

My point is there is nothing specific in your tracking to show it's be redirected back to Apple location or collection point.

Well, the only thing i can say to that is you're correct: my order indeed does look like yours. Maybe the shipping estimate from Apple is wrong and it will be here tomorrow. I guess we'll see.

As for the Elk Grove destination, mine still says my correct town. Did you have yours selected for a UPS CC as well or did all of this return to sender stuff happen on its own?

You will receive a email today with the label. Once you have shipped back the incorrect watch and it’s scanned with the carrier we will release a replacement watch to be shipped to you.

the respond from apple in the chat, on the phone they told my to wait 72 hours to investigate the problem and they gonna respond me back. i don't know what to do.

ill give you 800 right now paypal invoice :D:D

If it was true once they receive word that the watch is with the shipper they will send the second one. So you are only without it for 2? business days. Of course its now the weekend and also they usually don't ship out so quickly unless you are willing to pay for the new one (which is refunded when they get back their model).

Just out of interest, does the watch serial match the one on the box?
Really, I didn't check that. I am gonna check when I am gonna be home. I am thinking to send Monday to not be between the weekend. Until then I am gonna enjoy this one.

There are people who within the last several days have seen watches that are actively shipping suddenly stopped by a Return to Sender request from Apple. These watches are being rerouted back to a warehouse in CA. Apple has made no attempt to explain what is going on and the Apple call centers have no idea what is going on. People who have called Apple/UPS have seen each party try to implicate the other. The suspicion is that these watches may have wrong bands or a defect and one guy saw his shipping date changed to June. I called Apple when it happened to me and the lady promised she would resend the watch. If my delivery date gets changed to June then I will know it's not the same watch.

So Apple screws up, does not communicate and let's you know you'll get your watch whenever it is convenient for Apple.

Really this topic must be in the first page of macrumors to get their attention. Whenever they screwed up Apple remains silence.

Good news

OK GOOD NEWS.

This is for the Return to Sender issue.

I just received a phone call from a representative on behalf of Tim Cook himself. (I had sent a letter to him last night complaining about this.) Long story short, Apple is aware of the problem. They still feel this is happening on UPS's end. They are sending replacement watches with a 5-7 day (probably business day) delivery date to all people affected. Your account may report a later shipping date (a la June) but this is a quirk of the Online Apple Store and does not reflect the true shipping date. She promised emails until the situation is resolved. She said Tim Cook is aware of the situation and that this has been "interesting" - they have never encountered this before (my paraphrasing).

Part of her email follow up: "Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention and taking the time to speak with me today! As discussed, I will set up a replacement and will keep you posted on the progress of the situation." She also gave me her number and email address, telling me I could contact her any time.

While this delay is disappointing, I feel better that they are trying to rectify the situation. And, hey, Tim Cook really does read his email. :)

Trippy!

Good luck working it out.

Too bad it wasn't a mistake to your favor :D

Let's face it, I don't think but .00000000001% of people on here are that honest to return a higher end watch that was sent to them by mistake in the wrong box.

But the other way around... Well, we have this thread.

Did you even read this thread? Apple sent him a LOWER priced band. OP paid for a classic buckle which cost more than a sport band. OP also paid for a SS watch, which he did receive.
