Apple Watch Disconnected Icon

Does anyone know of a way to hide the Disconnected icon on the top of the watch. I work in a job where I can not have my phone on me. Having that icon on the whole day at work though gets really annoying.

There seems to be no way to hide that icon. I tried and could not do so.

Just hit the Airplane mode.
