I reboot mine every other week. It seemed to help with some issues I had with the Nike app when I first got my watch. I’ve continued need to do it since then. Not sure if it helps or not but nothing worse than going for a run in the cold and having Watch issues necessitating a restart.

I've been able to push it to 4wks.

I'm curious how the battery may last (due to the end of 2017 fiasco of throttling with depleting batteries on iPhone). This is a legit concern as watches that use batteries eventually need a replacement sometime.

I call BS on that statement:
OS X/macOS updates, iOS updates, and WatchOS updates many of which, if not the majority, force reboots or what you call a 'restart'. So I'm sure all your devices don't have the same OS that shipped with it since day one without any updates. If so good on you, but protect your security.

I think your are taking his statement too literally.

Like turn off for the sake of turning off like one turns off a car. But I’m sure he’s updated and his gadgets cycle off and on.

Like I don’t think I’ve ever turned off my iPhone (complete power down) except when I fly which is ones or 4x in a year.

I understand what you're saying ... but sure what he's posted he knows what HE's saying, sorry typing. IF you mean something state it as such, not generalize it fully. I don't know him and thus I cannot infer what he's intending vs what he's typing so I can only go by what is stated. Oh well it's over and done with, and clarified. Cheers to all.

I must confess that I am completely mystified by this discussion. Here’s my short original comment that you said was BS (which you included in full in your original comment):

Except when necessary to update or restart, I haven't turned off an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch in years.

You said it was BS because you have to reboot when you update, which of course, makes no sense since I specifically mentioned updating. It doesn’t matter, but to the extent you’re suggesting that I was unclear or edited my original comment, I think you’re wrong.
