Currently, the watch is not available through the normal employee discount store, and we don’t have a timetable on when it will be added. It will most likely be available for discount once ship times for all models normalize and initial customer demand is met. I would keep an eye on the store for future updates.

If you have any otters questions or concerns, please let us know.
Sincerely,

Update - the Watch category now exists on our EPP Store.

That's the good news. The bad news - zero discount on the Watch. But full discount on bands/accessories.

Any update on the EPP status of the watch? It's been a week. Curious if the status has changed.

I don't see any discounts for bands on mine.

I've heard several times that new products don't become available for EPP discount until 90 days after launch. This was true for the first iPad Mini with retina. Hopeful that the watch and bands become available a little before the end of this month.

Yes, the Apple Watch is available for purchase on our EPP store... with zero discount.

Bands ARE offered at the established discount, but many of these are listed as "unavailable to ship", e.g. the Classic Band.

I don't know if any of this will change. Perhaps all bands will be available to ship, but I've never seen a new product added to the EPP store that didn't already have the discount available.

Add this to the odd circumstance of Apple allowing a 50% discount to ONLY Apple employees, but only for the first two weeks. Now -nobody- can get any discount. I suspect the watches will never be available for a discount.

Bummer, but probably the lower end versions of the watch are selling below Apple's cost.

Thanks for the followup. You bring up an interesting thought that the discount may not ever be available on the watch. If it's on EPP with no discount it stands to reason that it will always be a full retail purchase regardless of where it is purchased.

I had been holding out for the 90 day window to save the money but I may rethink that plan now.

Well, I don't know if they never will offer the discount. This being a new category may mean a new protocol. I wouldn't expect any changes in the next few weeks, but only Apple knows the answer.

It may be wise to hold off for two more weeks. If 90 days is indeed the magic number, you will still be able to return your (full priced) watch.

Apple Inc. employees have the special watch pricing until July 8th. They're regular EPP discount of 25% will be available to them July 9th.

I stand corrected. I don't know where I got the two week time frame.

It will be interesting to see if the EPP discount will be available to all EPP stores on July 9th.
