Well she is not that techy. And of course she will love new pair of shoes. But she said to me that lets buy two of them. One for you and one for me. So that is why I have this thing in my mind.

If she likes the Watch, go ahead and get two, one for each of you. That's what I did. I got a 42 black Sport for me and a 38 silver sport with pink band for her. The idea behind getting her one was to replace her (unreliable) FitBit for exercise and yoga. For me, well, I just wanted one. :D

As for the digital sketch, let me tell you it's fun for the first and maybe second time, but after that, we don't use it. Texting is easier, and receiving messages on the watch is very convenient.

I think they may wait until the fall to release a hardware update, but I fully expect gen 2 watch to be released in 2016. Otherwise, the competition is going to catch up to Apple. I'm not sure why people think otherwise. It's a high end electronic gadget. What was the last electronic gadget that didn't get updated yearly? Apple TV and iPods are the exception rather than the rule.
Apple is already putting the Watch in their "other" product category, which includes Apple TV and iPods.

They also didn't release sales numbers for the Watch in the quarterly earnings call last week, which left analysts to guesstimate Watch sales by comparing the "Other" total with previous quarters.

It doesn't make since for us but Apple is in the business of making money, and they do a fantastic job at that. I believe they will want to add something for the holiday season. It may not be a major refresh, but they'll want to freshen the watch line a little. September will have been a year that it was at least introduced and the public got their first peak at it. Not saying it will happen, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it would definitely not happen.
They will release a big "update" for the watch for the holidays. It will be called the Apple TV and with HomeKit enabled on it and control further enhanced by the Apple Watch!

I hope the same as it doesn't make any sense for the Watch to upgrade every year. The next hardware update should be after least 2 years. And yes I am going to buy it in August from Best Buy so that I can use 10% movers coupon on that.

Best Buy doesn't honor those coupons for Apple products. I found out the hard way.

I don't know what a jumper is.

But, Ido know that LEATHER is the traditional gift for anniversary #3.

So, get her a nice third party leather band and yourself a matching one to go with it. Let her unwrap your gift to yourself first, then she can unwrap hers to find the exact same band...then present her with the watch to top it off.

I would have loved it if my hubs bought me an Apple watch. However I'm the super techie in the house so I ordered mine as soon as they went on sale online. Hubs bought his as soon as they were available in stores. I adore my watch with the exception I bought a 38 and decided a 42 was a better fit for my needs.

A jumper is a sweater.

I wonder who sat down and decided what materials match up with which anniversary.

I had no leather was for idea anniversary #3. Oh the jokes I could make!

If she already said that she likes it then why shouldn't you buy it? I mean, as for the future hardware upgrades, yes they will come, but not all that quickly.. The Watch isn't even yet being sold in many countries as we speak. If she likes it, buy it. Nobody even knows if AW2 will be all that better anyway..

My hunch is you could make 50...and they would all be various shades of grey for this forum.

I think the silver sport 38mm with white sport band is an excellent starting point for her. That's what I got my wife. She loved it, but ultimately bought a milanese loop which she likes a lot better. The good thing is the silver sport goes nicely with most bands, and she still has the sport band to switch to for certain activities if she wants.

That is incorrect. I have bought three MacBooks and used the coupons all three times.
I tried to use the movers coupon for a Thunderbolt Display and it was refused they said it wasn't valid on Apple products. Good luck.

I've used them on iPads. Your best bet is to get the ones that can be used online too because the online system is going to work or not, you won't have to rely on a rep.

Apple "accessories," are normally excluded. Perhaps, they put the display as an acessory.

Nevertheless, I would not buy an Apple Watch at Best Buy. The service is poor. You might want a different model, and Best Buy will never be as friendly about a return as Apple.

Does it matter where you buy an apple product? It's been my experience that you can always get support from an Apple Store no matter where you bought your product from? Is this not the case???

I think the poster was referring to returning the product. If you buy from Best Buy, you have to return to Best Buy. For any other service on an Apple product, take it to an Apple store, or call Apple Care. As you say, doesn't matter where you bought it.

An apple watch for the anniversary - i predict a divorce.
Why would you inflect this device on someone you love? Ebola would be a better option.

I love my Watch, and I'll be the first to admit that it's not perfect, but... Ebola? Really? LOL!

I happen to live in an area with an Apple Store within a drivable distance, but for most of the country that's not the case so BB does give them more reach and it is a product that people should select in person and not on a website IMO. I've never been overly impressed with Best Buy's Apple displays or customer service in the past but haven't been in a store for a few years now. Maybe they've gotten better. Always thought Apple would be better off with their own reps stationed the stores. I'm sure BB needs Apple sales to help their bottom line so hopefully the Apple products get good treatment there.

She already decided anyway.

Rumors of hardware updates are always just rumors anyway. For now, we just have our opinions, and it's my opinion that we won't see new hardware for at least two or three years, if not longer.

Hahahahahahaha

The problem has been solved. Mods kindly closed the thread. Thanks

After I got mine, my wife told me not to get her one. She would never wear it.

So, I got her one for her birthday. She loves it! It's been 6 weeks and she almost never takes it off.

Sorry, just saw your last post...
