FWIW @Newtons Apple I had never heard the word "faffing" myself

I think it is used farther down south than me and I live in Florida. LOL!

I will try to work it in my conversation to see if it works, but I doubt it.

I knew exactly what it meant and I grew up in the North East, sooo ... how did this get so far off topic anyway? :)

Not sure but you seem to be joining the off-topic conversation nicely.

Faffing about is not a common colloquialism in the USA. I'm an expat and use it regularly but it's just not something widely used here. Fwiw.

My biggest want is custom watch faces. I'm talking about the kind where the complications and hands are already there as a layer and you just add your own background to it. Something like this

I'm surprised we can't have any face over any background image. That's a pretty big omission to me.

I understand and enjoyed seeing and finding the definition. I love expanding my education, was in veterinary medicine and I guess the word faffing never came up or I missed that day. One of my best fiends is from Australia and have yet to hear him use this word.

Faffing about… close relative of Fannying about. :)
Both commonly used in the UK.

Btw. Things I use my Apple Watch for which aren't provided by Apple .

Wootstar - check woot without bothering with the phone

Deliveries - tracks deliveries from amazon etc.

Water minder - record water intake

Fantastical 2 - better management of calendar and tasks etc.

Tweetbot and twitter - read DM and maybe post a quick tweet by voice

Facebook messenger and skype. Natural extension to messages and email.

Mic'd - perfect app for recording ideas or conversations with others (check the laws in your area before recording others) you can trigger your phone to record without unlocking or record from your watch.

CNN - news headlines

Lyft and uber - self explanatory

Quicknzb- monitor sabnzbd history and current downloads.

Carrot weather - much better complications and weather with real time rain notification and warning.

Streaks - habit building

I'm not sure the Aussies use it either. Pretty sure it's just a U.K. Based colloquialism. :). Anyway it's a great word - expresses a lot with just the sound of it. Good way to avoid swearing too.

Expats taking over the world ! My aunt is in Sydney.

Oh yah I use the world clock on my watch before sky ping my friends and family all over the USA and world. Another use.

Surely when battery permits they'll add a small 720 FaceTime camera to the watch , probably by version 5 :)

The word fanny and pants are both big points of confusion in the USA.

I recall how much fun friends of mine from England had with the American use of fanny packs, back when they were popular hahaha

Maybe AW needs a slang conversion app so you know if someone is taking the p*ss or not if they tell you that you have lost the plot :)

I just tried to use my Apple Watch to ask Siri was "faffing" meant.

It told me to open my iPhone to search for the word...

What I discovered today I can just swipe my watch at the ATM love that feature. Quicker even if only a few seconds I love it. It bothers me the way the card locks in until you take your cash.
