As others have implied you really should E-mail this story to Tim Cook so Apple can turn it into an amazing Apple Watch ad. :p

Thank you all for the well wishes. I did email Tim and will keep you guys posted if any response.

The newborn came with a present for the three year old. A Kidizoom smart watch so he can stop monopolizing mommy's Apple Watch. It's crazy how quickly children figure out tech. As soon as we took it out of the box and put it on his wrist he was running around snapping pictures without having to be shown.

Now I feel left out until my 42 link ships.

Congratulations on your new born son! I'm glad your wife and son are healthy! Many blessings to your family!

What a great story! Congratulations, and I'm glad all turned out well. You should definitely communicate this to Apple - I am sure they would give you a gift!!

Congratulations!

Now, about his name, you could pick Tim, Jony or even Steve or Paul. You could also stick with the name you picked with your wife and don't care about what we say #

Fantastic!

(i've never known anyone to actually have that kinda labour - it's like something from the films!)

Congratulations!

For the rest of you with a pregnant wife, I hope she doesn't begin to have contractions until June/July of an undefined year

My 38 weeks pregnant wife, 3 year old son and I were attending her cousins wedding reception Saturday night. She left her iPhone in her purse at the table to go to the restroom when her water broke and she began to have contractions. No one could hear her call for help from the stall because of the loud music. Fortunately her Apple Watch was still connected through the bathroom walls and about 60 feet of ballroom, she was able to text me that her water broke and she was beginning labor. I quickly got her to the hospital where our second healthy son was born 2:01pm 5/3/2015. Yes, a long labor

Cheers!

After reading this post to my very pregnant wife, she responded with 'or she could have walked out and said help'.
Irrespective it's a win for the boys and a congrats for the OP!

She was still losing her water and the contractions started out heavy. I'm sure worse comes to worse she could have limped out emotionally distraught and leaking everywhere but due to the Apple Watch she was able to communicate her predicament and allow her family to assist and make preparations.

Congrats to you and your wife and we wish you a healthy baby as well.
