I'm excited to get mine. I've yet to see one in person, but after reading all of the post from people who purchased one I knew that I would love it. Apple needs to hurry up and ship it already. It's been Preparing for over 24 hours now.

Starting to get harder and harder to stay an Apple fan when this is the crap they're coming out withZ

Dude, don't think about it that way.

Think about it this way: Apple (and Hermes) are finding a way to make tons of profit by taking advantage of people with too much money.

This all just shows how smart they are. Same deal with the Edition watch; it probably costs Apple only a couple thousand to make it; the rest is pure profit from folks with too much money.

I don't feel that I am being taken advantage of and I definitely don't have too much money. I just choose to spend my disposable income on something different than you. I'm sure that you purchase things that I would find to be a rip off, but I wouldn't say that you had too much money and are being taken advantage of.

Hands up: does anyone care about the Hermes bands?

I know most of the people on the forums don't (I don't), and I'm not judging the hypothetical person who does care... but does that hypothetical person actually exist, and do they actually visit MacRumors?
You do realize it is not uncommon to spend more than $1000 on a Quartz watch that does nothing but tell the time? Hermès Quartz watches with the same bands go for $2500 or more.

I am a big Apple fan and am an Hermès watch owner. $340 for a band of its quality is a steal. These are hand-sewn by artisans in France, where even the minimum wage workers are paid in an hour what iPhone assemblers are paid for a day or two of work.

I care, I plan on purchasing one and I'm not rich. I can just afford certain things I want. I've had the SS since launch, and love it. The bands give me the opportunity to dress it up and down...and I like to dress.

Why would you complain to Apple and make them credit you when you chose to buy the SS, sell it, and buy the Hermes? Besides, you don't even have the SS anymore. Really low to be honest. Do you also call them up to credit you when they release an unexpected update for the device you just bought months ago?
I didn't call Apple and "force" them to give me a discount. I asked about the price difference and the rep offered the discount. I guess I should have told them no.
