Apple Watch Hermès Series 2 Models Officially Launch Today

Apple Watch Hermès Series 2 models, released on a pre-order basis last week, are now officially available for purchase both online and in stores.

Apple offers seven different Hermès models designed with handcrafted leather, including three with Single Tour bands, two with Double Tour bands, one with a Single Tour Deployment Buckle, and one with a Double Buckle Cuff. Prices range between $1,149 and $1,499 in the United States.

The new models serve as a refresh to last year's original Apple Watch Hermès lineup, released in October 2015. The new Series 2 models have the same custom Hermès watch face, but beyond that and the bands, the Hermès models are identical to regular Apple Watch models.

Apple Watch Hermès Series 2 models can be purchased through Apple's website in many countries, while in-store availability is limited to select Apple Store and Hermès locations in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Honolulu, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington D.C.

What looks nice about it? I could get nicer leather bands from a Chinese eBay store for $5. And they don't compliment the watch at all...and what makes it cost over a grand is beyond me... some people have too much money burning holes in their pockets

So people spend the extra money for the custom watch face? Because you'd be better off just buying the Watch Series 2 for $549 + Hermes Band for $339 on the Apple Store website. That's only $888 vs the $1199 Apple charges for them bundled together with the watch face. Is the watch face worth $311?

A Series 2 38mm stainless steel case with a sport band is $549.

A Series 2 38mm stainless steel case with an "Etoupe swift leather double buckle cuff" is a whopping $1499.

So... the watches themselves are exactly the same right? How is a leather bracelet nearly $1000?

Okay, so I see the actual cuff is $689. So what else are you paying for? Watch faces?

Don't disagree the Hermes is hugely overpriced, as most AWs are. But there is also nothing elegant about the sports band. It's a piece of rubber -- and I say this as an owner of one. It is junky band, it looks like one. Don't care, I bought it because it is a disposable device, not a keepsake. No band is going to make the AW look truly elegant. It's not that kind of watch no matter what Johnny Ive declares.

I was wanting a proper Mac Pro but now I've seen this I think I'll buy it instead. A Hermes Apple watch will really complete me as a person.

I live in a place where paying 500-600$ for an apple watch is as unjustifiable as maybe paying 1300$ for it in the US or other first world countries. What I learned after people calling me a bunch of stuff, including stupid for paying 2 months of minimum wage for it is just trying to make people understand that choices are choices.

If I had the money I would get the Hermes one, I love leather straps and I bet that one is really good and I would get really pissed off if people started judging my choice.
