Honestly, the only model that can be considered jewelry is the Edition, and even that's a stretch.

It's one piece of expensive disposable jewelry.

In the traditional sense, you can pass your jewelry down generations for hundreds of years. I am pretty sure Apple Watch won't come close to even a portion of that.

Exactly. Apple Watch will be obsolete within a few years.

It is a gimmick that will be obsolete in a couple years tops. Hopefully replaced with a real dick tracy watch that does not NEED a huge phone in your purse next to you to work.

To not call this jewelry is narrow mindedness.

Ok, technically jewelry is "adorned with a gem stone", but in the context of being a highly styled accessory..... It is that as much as any other watch.

Wearable technology is a watch, whether it tells time like a tag, or tells time and much more.

They wish it was jewelry. It is a gadget. I mean if I was going to buy jewelry, I certainly wouldn't buy it from Apple.

Really? So what are silver earrings? What are platinum rings?

I don't agree with the Apple Watch being jewelry but there is lots of jewelry that isn't adorned with a gem stone.

I completely agree. I think its a personal preference.

However my definition of Jewelry is anything you wear that expresses you, that says something about you, that makes you feel good and in your mind - look good.

So if the Apple Watch does that for you. Its Jewelry.

It is also a Gadget, because it is a piece of technology that can perform thousands and thousands of functions.

The Apple watch is not jewellery. Jewellery is buying a Rolex/AP/Patek and not giving a monkeys that it tells the time.

I wear my APs and dont even use it to look for the time alot of the time. Still naturally get my phone out for that.

I'm disappointed. I thought it would track my heart rate. I thought it would track distance run. I thought it would allow me to control the music on my iPhone while it sits in my CamelBak. I thought it would give me directions. I thought it would notify me of important texts and emails. I thought it would wake me silently. I thought, I thought , I thought...

Bravo....Brilliant, Bloody Brilliant!

I'm laughing at myself because first of all we feel exactly the same, and second because I don't even care if any of mine keep perfectly accurate time.

Kept in rotation and when not being worn they're in a motorized auto winder box, most are just fine. Yet I have one stubborn Breguet Classique Chronométrie that drives my favorite watchmaker crazy. No matter how it's timed it runs about a minute fast every 30 days.

I didn't even notice but he did when keeping it for servicing. Now that's one refreshingly honest horologist. I'm lucky to have found him, as I take very good care of my treasures :)

Guys, Apple's a jeweler now...not a tech company. Didn't any of you watch the keynote?
