They were one of the first to the smartwatch market. Technically, Apple is the one 'copying' the Galaxy Gear.

For the first time, these knockoffs actually look better than the original product. No doubt the battery life will be just as bad though.

The first smartwatch was the one with the calculator that came out of the quarter machine at the supermarket 20 years ago.

For all the work they put into making a knockoff, couldn't they hire one English-speaking guy to fix the advertisement's wording? There are so many mass-produced knockoff or otherwise cheap products from China that are actually good but have unintelligible advertising and documentation.

I don't see Samsung mentioned in the article.. are they slipping?

Surprise: the Chinese make Samsung smartwatch knock offs, too!

I'm willing to bet Samsung only made a smartwatch series because rumors broke early that Apple was working on one.

Samsung's been making smartwatches since the late 1990s, progressing as new tech allows:

However, once iWatch rumors starting getting more attention in early 2013, you're probably right that ithe interest allowed Samsung managers to put more models into production.

Of course, so did the success of Pebble, and devices from Sony. And the technology getting ripe. Along with Google working on Android Wear all along.

Basically, some of the same things that no doubt got Apple moving forward, too.

Following Apple's Apple Watch-dominated media event on Monday, a few manufacturers in China have today already begun selling imitators of the device

The word you were probably seeking here is "imitations." An imitator is a person who imitates, so the statement here says that the people who made the copy are for sale. Well, it is China, so who knows?

I don't know why anyone would sit around waiting for the overpriced Apple watch, when you can order the fantastic ZEAPLUS Watch today!
  • It works with Android as well as iOS
  • You can simply insert SIM card to talk at anytime!

More features, at a far better price! Apple Watch buyers are crazy!

OMG, it truly amazes me how native people can be :D
Like.....we don't know how reliable this knock off trash can be.

Since Apple isn't copying any Samsung watch, technically, Apple isn't copying anything.

This is too funny:D well look on the bright side guys, if the chinese are able to release knock offs so easily and quickly at least then we know the third party straps won't be that far behind.

The problem is that you want a strap that makes your (at least) $349 watch look even better than the strap that it comes with. That's not easy.

News reports 'cheap' Apple Watch copies for sale on Alibaba

Just found this article from the BBC which reports that 'cheap' Apple Watch lookalikes have now been found online at Alibaba > http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-31832108

I think this is seriously going to dent consumer and shareholder confidence in Apple if you ask me...

The rip off iPhones and iPads available in China dont appear to have made much of a difference to things...i cant see things being any different with the watch. It looks cheap and most stuff is missing as well!

Obviously the Chinese are selling the :apple: Watch blueprints just like they do for iPhone and everything else. Unfortunately too many people don't care simply because Apple does very well. Bigger issue is US companies doing business in China and they don't respect IP and take everything they can.

This is why China went from making toys to high-end mobile devices literally overnight by stealing IP and manufacturing techniques from companies using China to make products.

Instead of poking fun, would you rather have the website all in chinese so that you don't understand anything it says at all?

Someone needs to reset their humor fuse!

In all seriousness though, yes, actually - because Chrome and other translators would likely grammatically improve it.

Perhaps Apple should take this as a compliment. Cheap Chinese copies of the Apple watch puts Apple in the same class as Rolex, whose watches are probably copied more than any. Fortunately, few people are fooled, and most buyers of these knockoffs just buy them for the novelty.
