Mail app on watch is a joke. Won’t sync properly with what’s on my phone. At least it seems to be a superset. I’m considering installing Spark as I’ve had better luck with it in the past.

I’ve tried spark but it wasn’t updating without opening the app in the watch. I want an app that can get my email without my phone being around and do it correctly!

Thanks. That saves me time from trying it. We’ll have to wait a few months for Apple to get this right. It’s fun being alpha/beta testers, *and* have the privilege of paying for it too! :)

Yes this is super disappointing. It stinks too that essential the phone is a relay for email on the watch. We have LTE for a reason! I was also really disappointed that outlook was such a dud on the watch.

Same issue here with some additional details. If I receive a new exchange email, it shows on my iPhone and my Apple Watch (as expected). If I delete the email via my iPhone, the email IS also deleted from my Apple Watch. However, if I delete the email directly from exchange via Outlook on my PC, the email IS deleted from my iPhone, but NOT from my Apple Watch. Basically, if I delete emails while I am at work all day via Outlook, I have to then delete all of those same emails on my watch later in the day (the iPhone is always in sync).

I would have thought this would have been fixed after all this time. My watch is set to mirror my phone. FWIW, I never get the double notification issue.

Sadly, I was wrong when I posted that my problem of inconsistent phone/watch mail sync had been fixed.

It’s still doing the same thing, where I have to deselect/select mailboxes from the Watch app in order for the sync to temporarily line up properly.

Spark is getting a little better with recent releases, but I still often have to open the phone app to get a complete sync.

At least we know Spark is working on the issue. With Apple, who knows.

This exactly what I also have to do to sync my mail boxes. All new email is synced and received. But once email is deleted from my computer, my phone emails sync and reflect the deleted emails. However, the watch emails do not reflect the deleted emails and therefore are not synced.

Have you had any better luck with iOS 11.2? Since 11.2 the Watch is syncing mail better, including messages that are moved/deleted outside of the Watch or iOS mail app. It’s only been a day or so, so it could revert back to the problematic behavior.

Thank you for reminding me. I just tried it and the sync problem is still there. I even powered both my watch and phone off and checked my watch emails and it still did not sync.

Hm, sorry to hear that. Did you first do the 'select/unselect' trick in the Mail section of the Apple Watch iOS app? I'm happy to report that my mail sync on Watch has been consistent and reliable since iOS 11.2 installation. This is even after a few nights, where the morning would typically show lots of message on Watch that had come in overnight into my Inbox but moved elsewhere due to automatic filter processing. These messaged would stick around and accumulate until I went into the iOS Watch app and selected/unselected mailboxes.

Thank you very much. That did the trick. I didn't think to unselect and then select the mail box to sync it up first. After I did that, I went into my email on my (PC), deleted all the emails I didn't want, kept a few. Went to my watch, and bam, it was synced up. Well, now we can officially say the issue has been resolved. Thanks again.
