I live in Manhattan too and I saw two Apple Watches on April 24th on the subway. I mean you won't see it on everyone's wrist but the watch is here lol. Maybe just wasn't a right place right time to spot one for you :D

Damn, April 24th! That is some sharp spotting.

Apple Watch **might** be the biggest Failure to Launch from Apple yet

Wow. I thought the threads on AW on Watchuseek were bad. They're tame compared to all the threads on Macrumors (and yes, first time here).

Now I remember why I stopped frequenting tech forums. Things haven't changed.

Been pretty happy with my 38mm SS, and super excited to get it on launch day. It's Gen 1 so expected some roughness, but been pleasantly surprised at how much of a nice experience it's been.

Looking forward to updates to this little gem in the years to come!

I'm in the same boat as you, I'm going through a grief phase right now. I hate that despite pre-ordering, people in LA can go to Maxfield and pick up a watch in person!

It's not that many that can buy tho, or their got a bigger stock each day now?

Two things. I still haven't seen an Apple Watch in real life and I live in New York City and ride the subways meaning I see lots of people in the regular course of my day and probably 50% of them have iPhones. So I'm thinking Apple really had pathetic supplies of the watch at launch. I know Apple won't reveal numbers, but if they had sold and shipped a million by now to the U.S., I think I would have seen one by now.

I have one friend who's wife got the 38mm blue band on April 24 even though he ordered it for his wife on something like April 20. I think Apple realized that the 42mm was going to be vastly more popular, but that they wanted a diverse group of men and women to be wearing the watch around town, so they intentionally did not focus their efforts on the most popular sizes and colors.

I've seen about 10 so far, a couple in my nearest, which is a quiet small town, couple more in the nearest bigger town (which keeps missing out on being declared a city), the rest when I was in London on Sunday.

I'm not sure of Maxfield's daily stock, but it just seems kinda insane to me that Apple is selling them via a 3rd party store and not their own stores? Maxfield's must have done some dirty things to get that exclusivity or paid outta the wahoo.

I haven't ordered one. I won't until Gen 2. I have this thing called patience.

Now everyone who ordered a Gen 1 is impatient. Classic holier than thou attitude.

Please, cite where I've stated that?

The only impatient people I'm talking about are those that ignored Apple's statements saying supply would be limited, who can't seem to figure out that the ordering process online was set up specifically because supply was tight, and have taken to the internet to spin tales about how they've been mislead while ignoring that they should know better.

NT1440, are you serious? Saying you will wait for gen 2 because you have patience heavily implies to a reasonable reader that people who did order one are impatient. I'm not sure how anyone could infer anything different.

If this was not your intention then that is not the fault of phirstube but a miscommunication on your part.
