Because this is a device that Apple wants to be seen as luxury jewelry. You see Rolex, Citizen, etc. iWatch doesn't speak quality, but Apple Watch does. It was important to get the company name in there.

hi, how to find the official logo for Apple Watch?

There is probably a vector version or one with transparency somewhere, if you look around. Found it.

Personally, I've been thinking for a while that this is Tim's way of putting his own touch on the company. Perhaps he wanted everyone to know that while the classic Apple foundations will stay, some things will change and he wasn't just going to drag the company through under the grand ideas and icons of Steve Jobs. All of that said, maybe he just wanted to freshen it up a bit, maybe it's trademarking, maybe it could even be that they couldn't fit an Apple logo on the back of the watch. Just my 2 cents.

Anyone care to guess why the name "Apple Watch" was chosen over "iWatch"? iWatch sounds a little better to me.

Were there trademark issues? I remember the trademark issue with "iTV". Is Apple moving away from the i- prefix?

The "Apple Watch" name goes back 20+ years. It is stamped on my watches from the 90's.

… official logo for Apple Watch …

No such logo from Apple; please see the second line of https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/21519984 on page one of this topic.

… revived …

It span off from a very recent topic that veered off into discussion of the phrase Apple Watch.

applewatch.net

The two Apple-oriented products previously found (screenshot below) are no longer amongst Amazon's twelve hottest new releases in electronics. Was http://www.amazon.com/Macbook-Lapto...cbook+pro+laptop+power+supply+adapter+charger truly hot and new two days ago? The first review was around five weeks ago, that's not particularly new for a bargain basement clone of something that has been around for years.

I'm vaguely amused that Amazon associated the applewatch.net tag with adapters for Apple notebooks. And maybe the redirect from applewatch.net to Amazon is peculiar to Google DNS ...

Back on track (no thanks to Amazon): Apple Watch. I can'tt recommend using an 85W adapter ;)

If people want more juice than can be squeezed into an Apple Watch then this recent front page news may be of interest:

Reserve Strap to Offer 30 Hours of Extra Apple Watch Battery Life, Launching in November

So, how am I able to ask Siri (on my watch) questions when my iPhone is off? Like 'what is the score of the Yankees game?' and I get the up-to-date score.
You had to pair your Watch with your phone first, then join the network on your phone and relay that information to your watch for later use in the event your phone was not available. The Watch is an iPhone accessory, just because it is capable of standing on its own in some situations, does not mean it is an internet capable device. Get back to us when you can leave your phone at home and ask Siri the score to the game anywhere you go, or more importantly surf the web via a mini browser (which I would argue is the definition of using the Internet). Then you will have an iWatch.

You can't blame anyone for calling it iWatch.

Balme Apple for that. It will take a decades to rid ourselves of that madness :D

The word

... strange that they capitalized the device name (WATCH) ...

All uppercase seems to be the exception, not the norm:
  • the back of a Watch, where all alphabetical characters (not just one word) are uppercase
  • http://www.apple.com/watch/ where the first and third of three headings are Watch
  • http://store.apple.com/uk where we have Watch, Watch, WATCH, APPLE WATCH EDITION
  • aiming to buy the latter leads to Watch, Watch, Apple Watch Edition, WATCH , WATCH EDITION and so on.
Distinguishing icons

Mac, iPad, iPhone and iPod emphasise the part of the hardware that will show the software interface.

Watch hides the part that will show the software interface. Emphasis on the crown.

Photography

When emphasis is on Watch hardware, it's rarely face-on.

When emphasis is on watchOS, or on apps for watchOS, it's usually face on. Notable exceptions include https://developer.apple.com/technologies/ where both iOS and watchOS are photographed from an angle.

Side note

Those are observations, not corrections. The table of similar topics (below) cautions against iWatch vs. Apple Watch Corrections.
