Never felt so stupid.

Many said that the demand will not be crazy, so I wanted to try one on and decide on the size but I guess now I will have to wait.

In an unrelated news, Moto Smart watch is now for $179.

One advantage of the Moto is you can have it delivered tomorrow;)

I was at work when the Apple watch went up for sale. I had one in my cart but knew I needed to talk with wife about it before I bought one. Well I came home to pled my case to get one only to find out she stayed up till 3 am and ordered one for me already :)

June? Really?

My threshold is the $400 mark on this and seeing all models slip another 2+ months from now is really nonsense. I think I'm going to pass on this one even though I really wanted one.

Resell Market is gonna be KILLLLLERRR on this. Talk about bringing home the bacon...MAKEITRAINDOLLAAA

Absolutely brilliant marketing. No way there was enough yield to meet their most modest projections. But releasing it anyway and whipping up the 'you can't even get one' hype is absolutely genius.

Especially because we know they are doing it....but fall for the banana in the tailpipe trick every single time.

I was able to order a 42 mm space gray Apple Watch Sport, it's my graduation gift. I'm surprised that mine won't be delivered until May 13 - May 27, considering the confirmation email stated that I order at 2:05 central time. Oh well. Also, like many others, I made an appointment for this Saturday to make sure that I actually even want the watch.
I am also in central standard time and i was able to get a shipping date of 4/24-5/8. Ordered at 2:03

So apparently Samsung released some sort of phone today? Who knew?

Just ordered the Apple Watch 42mm Stainless Steel Case with Black Classic Buckle with a delivery of 4-6 weeks. Now I am going to order a couple of extra bands. Heavy demand is always a good sign. Don't rush a release to satisfy the bitter, demand the best quality craftsmanship.

There will always be people who say it is a marketing ploy only but another company just released their new phone today and added that there will be delays as demand is high and the curved glass takes time to make.

So, are both companies lying to drive up demand? I don't know, but Apple is better at marketing than me and their earnings and product quality has made them the largest company in the world (market cap) even though they charge the most for everything or so it seems. :)

That other company releasing a phone today posted yesterday that they will have delays because of demand and difficulty to make the Edge. We really don't know if it is marketing or not, but whatever it is, Apple shatters earnings every three months. :)

Just ordered the SS 42mm w/Classic Buckle and the ordered said 4-6 weeks... And Apple is really good at hitting those dates.

just order it, even those the date may say June Apple will increase production. The date is based on current stock and demand. I have a 4-6wk but in the past on other Apple products with high demand it's always changed to be less

This is not the same Apple as it was, even 10 years ago. iPhone software/hardware quality has tanked, in the past few years. It's an unwritten law... The more you mass produce, the lower your quality gets.

We pay Porsche prices, for our devices, yet we get Volkswagen quality. VW's are awesome but no one is going to pay Porsche prices for them.

These are some bizarrely stupid claims.

The iPhone 6 is about as well built a phone as it is possible to buy. And ten years ago Apple didn't even make a phone.

Rolex make close to a million watches a year, which sounds like mass production to me, yet they have repeatedly year after year ramped up their prices, and apparently people are still buying them and not complaining about build quality. Even at the stupid prices they sell for.

I also reject your assessment of pricing. Apple prices are higher than most other manufacturers, because they are a premium brand.

I was just in the Apple Store at the Mall of America. My father in law was looking at the iMac. We then went across the hall to the Microsoft store to look at the PC equivalent for similar money. Apple had their amazing 5K display and a beautiful aluminum case. Microsoft had a crappy display, it was made of plastic, and was built with no design flair. It was pretty clear that the Apple device was superior.

You're clearly wrong in terms of Apple build quality and the value proposition Apple provides. Unless you're talking about the Apple Watch Edition, which is clearly an amusing money grab at people with more money than sense.

No, because you are a little high-strung and fan-ish. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but you should diversify your ranting portfolio.

Also, record profits make not most company in demand. That just makes them highly profitable.

It's really late. I won't remember this tomorrow. If you want to argue, just know that I didn't quit... I am sleeping and will have better things to do for the rest of my life.
Guys like you crack me up. Thanks for the laugh. Made me day.

Not so much...

Obviously, this was an automated post as I waited up to buy one of these things and gave up after seeing the "We'll be back" message well after the preorder start time.

This post came online about 3 or 4 minutes before the apple store came back.

Well crap I got my order in for 4/24 but I have the wrong billing address, will changing it make the order slip? Anyone know?

Same thing happened to me (still unsure why). I just called Apple Customer Support to correct the billing address. Did not affect my 4/24 shipping date.

That was easily the fastest and simplest Apple launch day pre-order experience ever; literally took less than a minute through the Apple Store app on my iPhone 6. Hopefully next week they'll let those who've successfully pre-ordered switch to in-store pick up on the 24th.

I agree. I saw a lot of people complaining about it on this thread, but I actually thought it was very painless... no errors while trying to get through checkout, no slow loading... past launches have been much uglier.

links, or its all in your head. apples products are the most desired CE items on earth...which means they sell out. deal with it.

And you've got links to prove that this isn't the case? Great, let's see them.

Yeah I was able to call them and have it changed as well, here was the thread we discussed it in https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1864682/

I ordered a 42MM SS with Black Sport band for myself and a 38MM SS with White Sport Band for my better half. I ordered as soon as the store came up online last night. Both items showed 4/24-5/8 delivery dates. I just checked the status of the order and now they both say 5/13-5/27. I guess a lot changed in the last eight hours. It's not a big deal since it is just a piece of CE, but that is rather annoying.
