How many "as expected Apple Watches are about to be delivered because that's what happens when you order something" posts are we going to get on the front page exactly?

Just surprised they were so caught off guard by the interest for SS, even with everyone using the "Favorite" option in the Store App to give them an estimate.

Excellent point! In following people's comments on Twitter, it looked like a lot of us got the message. We started off with several favorites but by the time we ordered we were down to one or two at most. That made the ordering process fairly straight-forward. It was just a matter of completing the steps and paying for the Watch.

You would think Apple had real time aggregated data on each SKU and how many Favorites by country were listed. Even at the outset they should have seen the number of SSs and more importantly SSs with BSBs.

For everyone that is complaining......I ordered about 30 minutes after the orders went live. My estimated shipping was mid may. It still says processing on my order status on apple.com

But if you go to UPS.com and track by reference number, which is your telephone number and then put your destination country at United States and destination zip code as your zip code, then it should pull up your tracking information. Mine shows it will be delivered tomorrow and yet on Apple.com it still is showing for mid May delivery.

Wow, what a mess! I got my order in 1 minute after pre-orders started, I got the 4/24-5/8 window, and when I go to UPS they say Apple created a shipping label today, but UPS says they don't have the package yet and there is no delivery date available. Amazing that mid May orders get delivery estimates of tomorrow, and I get no delivery estimate at all!

The 42mm steel model with black sport band is completely screwed up.

I would have ordered a Milanese band version if I knew they are shipping those earlier than the black sport band version despite what they listed. Only got the black version in order to get it early (and I got through within a minute of the preorders opening), and now I'm getting my watch later than my friend who ordered a sport two days after preorders started and had already received his tracking number for tomorrow.

This sucks.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered the 42mm steel model with milanese loop at 12:02am on 4/10. Still don't have a shipping confirmation!

Credit card was just charged for my 42mm SS Milanese and the apple care! Not that this means I'll get it tomorrow, but I'm excited I got charged at least. My husband's watch (Black 42mm Aluminun Sport) has not been charged though.

My card was charged on Monday and I still have no idea what's going on. Apple says "preparing to ship." UPS says a shipping label was created today but they haven't received the package yet. No delivery estimate.

My credit card was charged on 4/20 and I STILL don't have a shipping confirmation yet! It had better get here tomorrow...

I am west coast (Phoenix), and it looks like lots of people on the west coast are having similar issues - not getting a tracking number yet.

From everything I am seeing on the forums and comments on Facebook, the issue seems to be centered around the 42 Space Gray with Black Sports band. I am not seeing anyone with this watch who has seen any movement on their order. That just happens to be the one I ordered within 2 minutes of the pre-order. I also received the email last night, so I am assuming it will not arrive for launch day.

Mine just moved to "Preparing for Shipment". USA West Coast. Pre-ordered in first two minutes.

Dude, all I'm saying is you have been telling everyone that "preparing to ship" means that UPS has the package, but UPS says they DO NOT have my package... and this is 4 days after my status changed to "preparing to ship." I don't know why you think you know that UPS has my package when UPS themselves say they don't.

You are assuming there is a simple hand-off between Apple to UPS and as soon as that happens it gets a status of "shipped" with a tracking number. That's wrong. It's more complicated than that.

Apple no doubt has been shipping devices from China for at least a week or longer, and they're in some kind of holding area within a UPS facility, and/or UPS is moving large numbers of inventory to different warehouses throughout the country so they can be close to their final location on delivery day.

When your card was charged is when your watch actually left Apple's possession and went somewhere into UPS. THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT WAS OFFICIALLY SHIPPED, because there's a lot more going on in the background to manage inventory and logistics than is obvious to a normal person, not to mention an agreement between Apple and UPS not to deliver them.

I think I've laid out the reasoning pretty clearly in my previous post. All it requires to understand is to forget about the idea that there's some guy at Apple HQ manually shipping each watch by hand to a UPS truck. At these numbers, the scale is much bigger and requires a very different approach.

I FINALLY was charged for my 42mm SS Milanese loop :apple: Watch! YAY!

So both the watch and apple care has been charged, my order status has changed to preparing for shipment, but according to apple's order page it states that I should receive a shipping email... Haven't gotten that yet. I did however, get the sad death email about them working on the order, I thought it was all over!

I'm curious to see if I receive my watch tomorrow. By the way, I do live in Louisville, Kentucky. 20 minutes away from the UPS HUB!! YAY LOUISVILLE!

Next step, find something to match my :apple: Watch for Derby!

Interesting. Mine says the package weighs 3.1 pounds. The stainless doesn't weigh .9 pounds more. I wonder why the discrepancy?

Thats what I said in an earlier post and I also ordered a Sport same band but 38mm and it weighs only 1.4 lbs. I wonder if the packaging is that much nicer for the SS models than the Sport Models?

What time were you charged if you don't mind?:)

I have a June shipment and haven't had any movement. When did you pre-order yours? I placed on the morning of the 11th. I think a very small number of June shipments have moved. From what I can tell mostly mid May and later May have had the surprises. We may get a nice surprise in a couple of weeks though! Here's to hoping!

I'm in the same boat as you. Waited to try on a watch first and ordered mine early afternoon on the 11th. My wife is getting the 38mm SS with white sports band and I'm getting the 42mm SS with black sports band. Hers is scheduled for May 14 - May 28 and mine is scheduled for June. Both are still processing.

I'm fine with waiting since I held off on placing my order. I'm glad I tried it on first, too. We were both going to get Sport watches, but changed our minds to Stainless Steel after trying them on.

Just to lighten things up I had to post this from the Watch forum (from member Switchback666). :D

You don't know any more than anyone else so I don't know why you're pretending like you do.

Case in point, you previously said that "preparing for shipment" means it is at UPS. My status has said that since Monday. Here you say "When your card was charged is when your watch actually left Apple's possession and went somewhere into UPS." But guess what? My card STILL has not been charged. Apple got a temporary authorization on my credit card on Monday, at the same time my status changed to "preparing to ship," but they have not yet charged my card.

Bottom line, I will trust UPS's information, which is specific to my tracking number, more than I trust your wild guesses which are based on nothing.

But thanks!

42mm SG black band just charged to my credit card! Now "preparing to ship". Hopefully delivery tomorrow in Little Rock....fingers crossed. Orders at :02

Apple updated me to "preparing shipment". I'm hopeful but not holding my breath. My husband's watch has not been charged still
