I had to reinstall the iOS beta profile on my iPhone today to download iOS 8.4 beta. When I went to the beta website to download to my phone, I received the following screen.

There was an option to download the beta program for the Apple Watch. Clicking on that option takes you into the Watch app, where you can download the beta profile.

There is no beta update available as of yet, but I think this is an indication of a public beta for Apple Watch software.

Wasn't sure if this was the right forum for this. Lots of threads in this forum but no specific forum for iPhone software.

This Apple watch beta can't be any worse than the current software on the watch lol. How do you get to that screen?

Do you know how to enroll for the iOS specific beta program? I am currently only enrolled in the Yosemite beta program and cannot find a way to enroll my iOS devices.

This is a very good sign. Apple adopting public beta usage for iOS updates will make iOS bug free, while listening to more individuals.

I wonder if the Watch needs a custom profile to work with Beta's of iOS, or if this is a true Beta software of the Watch software.

I wish Apple would also unify the naming conventions of iOS across all of it's platforms. Apple has admitted the Apple TV and Apple Watch use the same core OS, so why not just release updates using the same versioning?

Maybe this is just a way of getting profiles on Apple Watch, do the options appear if you try to download one from another site?

Hopefully that means that we've all enabled Watch OS Betas!

    We probably haven't.

On the Apple Beta website, there should be an option/tab to flip between OS X and iOS. It's right in the center of the page, whichever one is selected is highlighted in blue.

I'm a beta tester and on 8.4 but no :apple:Watch update. Is it 1.01 or 1.1? Any changes you have noticed?

Thought that iOS beta is for developers only?

It is my understanding that the "Profile" simply identifies the device as belonging to a beta tester or in my case, a seed tester and therefore eligible to download and install a particular version of pre-release software.

For example, when I received the email notice that the iOS 8.4 beta was available, I first had to log into my Apple Seed account from my phone and download the iOS 8.4 Beta profile and only then did the 8.4 appear under Software Update.

I am a developer and no options listed for me. I can download iOS 8.4 but how do you get the watch beta?

You apparently haven't been a part of Apple's betas in the past :) I remember one beta that tons of people installed on their iPhones (that weren't part of the beta program), and it broke Wifi and made them run super slow. And the OS couldn't be reverted to the previous version, all people could do was wait for the production OS to be released.

Be very, very careful about installing beta OS on your snazzy new devices...

Totally agree. I've been fortunate enough to avoid any major issues so far.

It's possible that only the people who originally signed up for the iOS public beta can access it. I remember they limited the number of people originally, and dont know if that got expanded.
