My old Samsung Gear S3 watch had problems getting the heart rate reading through my tattoos. My current Smartwatch (Fitbit Ionic) has no such problems.

Will a Series 3 Apple Watch have any problems with the tattoos? Swapping arms is not a solution as I have them on both arms. :)

Depends on the tattoos to be honest. I personally never have a problem.

I have two full sleeves, however I have no colour in them and by design they are “grey” as opposed to deep black.

I have friends who do have problems but they seem to be deep black or colour where they have issues.

My advice would be to nip to an Apple Store and try one on before buying.

It’s depends how dark the ink is specifically and the tattoo palcement to interfere with the sensors. It has posed problems for others with tattoos on their wrist.

Cheers guys I'll check out those links. My tats are Black, Grey and red and right under where the watch would lie on the wrist. I did try a series 2 AW owned by a guy at work and that had issues in that there was no heart rate detection. I'm hoping the forthcoming S4 will be better.
